There should be a marks on the hull of the ship (plimsoll or load line) that indicate if the ship has cargo (it's low in the water) and therefore a worthy target.
Plimsoll line - Low in the water, carrying treasure..
@MMountain I'm on the fence with realism vs fun with having ships lower in the water depending on their cargo - but I do agree it would be nice to have a way of knowing if an enemy ship is carrying cargo, and encouraging Players to visit outposts more often to drop off their loot.
@bodhislam It's already in there - ships do sit lower in the water depending on their cargo load - another user on here tested it and found you can even make a sloop tip over if you put all the loot on one side.

Pretty sure that’s not true, if it is I must always put my loot perfectly balanced. Lol...

Wait...
Real? Link? I kinda wanna see this, now, because that changes the game HELLA for me.@bodhislam he probably dosn't mean having teh ship half sinking, just a way to tell if a ship has cargo, I dont think it should continue to go lower in the water as you stack more cargo. But this sounds like a good idea to signify a ship with cargo.
@mr-spiderhead
I tested that putting all your bananas in 1 barrel will sink your sloop.
The 6 holes had nothing to do with it. 😄Had 15 chests all on the same spot on a sloop. Never sank. 👍
Remember to bail water during a storm.
Don't drop your anchor after crashing on land.
Your boat will bug out and fly away or flip sometimes.
Scuttle your ship on land to force it to fly.@filthee-mudblud I've just spent the last hour solidly searching the forums for the thread I read this in (even going back to over a month ago even though I only read it a few days back), and I can't find it. So, take it with a pinch of salt I guess.
