So, I was thinking about something that would be pretty darn cool to add into the game. Me and my buddy have been unstoppable on a sloop. Taking down forts against galleons/ sloops, pirating plunder from other pirates, etc. But it has come at a cost of people spamming and rage messaging me on xbox because of it. I don't want to constantly have to block/ report people who do this, so I propose an even better idea. Pirate names instead of gamertags. Imagine it, instead of seeing "StankyDankOX88," (not my gamertag, just one I used randomly as an example), they'd see the name Lead Belly (my pirate name) with my chosen title. This would also apply to crew members in case they are toxic and trolling and get cast to the brig for the such. The only way ANYONE could see your gamertag (if not already your friend) is with the Make a Friend gesture. And it would have to be consensual. This would also make for an even more immersive and personable game, because you got to actually name your pirate... RPG style. I think it is a fantastic idea and would cure a lot of headaches that occur with our gamertags being so readily available to others.
I also think it would be really cool to add in a pop up when you get sunk (when they add in ship names) that says "you were sunk by "The Wailing Banshee and its crew" or whatever ship name they have.
Of course Rare would have to have filters in place so people can't use vulgarities in their names for their pirates and ships. This only because it's rated T and not M and children do play the game.
Please comment your ideas that would make Sea of Thieves an even better game than the fantastic game it is already!
I also propose an opposite title to Legendary! DREADED! Can you imagine that? Legendary can be a title for players who actually follow the pirate code posted in taverns. And Dreaded could be the title for those merciless pirates who plunder and destroy everyone.
Lead Belly, Legendary Pirate.
Lead Belly, Dreaded Pirate.
Please, Rare?
