"Parley" The Pirate Codex ! What about to do against Griefer ?

  • This is more a Feedback on the Community and Player behave into the game and a try to solve some Problems.

    This game need a honorful Pirate Codex: If a player doesn't fight back then don't kill him over and over again. Just plunder him but let him stay alive , let him escape with his empty ship. That's what we do already. That's how we solve the griefing and camper problem. If you be a victim then just stay still and don't fight .. don't even hold a weapon in your hand... and our crew won't kill you on your own ship endless times.. all we do is to take your stuff and then we go again.. no one has to be harmed this way . And if you say "Parley" into the voice chat then we can discuss in peace too . But as long you raise your saber against us we will kill you and we will answer that action with cannons and smoking guns until your ship is sunk.

    Maybe the game mechanics should reward players they follow this codex .

  • @durengo-germany it doesn't matter, it's a video game and the ones who keep killing you won't care what you do.

  • There needs to be some sort of reputation attached to the pirate I think.

    Perhaps they receive less reward from voyages and turn ins because they are reviled.

    Or, perhaps some sort of bounty added to them that others upon defeating them will earn.
    Something that is thought out and not exploitable, like kill me 10x then I kill you for obscene amounts of gold.

  • @mubhcaeb78 I've seen the bounty idea floating around. I think that is pretty cool. Incentive to get some gold out of it lol

  • @durengo-germany This is what my crew has been doing. If we board a ship with loot, we'll take it and leave. If they put up a fight (not that I'd blame them) we will kill them until it's all on our ship then we leave. If they follow us then we sink them. If they're good sports we'll leave them with more than we'll take. Yesterday we boarded a sloop and found 1 player on the ground just sleeping playing dead next to his loot. Since he gave us a good laugh we instead gave him a captains chest, left it right next to him then went on our way.

    I would like to see that Griefer will be marked as Griefers ... maybe because of a red Flag on the Top of there Ship. So that everyone is warned.
