Secure the brig

  • I think the brig is a terrible idea since inmates (assuming that they are in there for legitimate reasons) take up a required crew position, and still gain from this. However, if you intend to keep it, then you should also restrict their ability to interact with objects.

There is a way to break out of the brig and once this happens you still have full functionality to empty barrels, fire cannons, pick up and drop treasures, drop anchor. The crew can always vote to release you and then lock you in again but that assumes they've noticed.

Removing the ability to interact whilst locked in the brig means that breaking out has no benefit.

  • @christyxo we have had ppl join our game randomly when one of our crew dc's and is tryign to get back in .. seeing the loot we have on board doesnt make them want to leave when you brig them .. I feel like if a crew member is in the brig for more than 15 minutes he should be auto ejected back to the menus.. there is no reason I should have some troll sit in my brig for 2+ hours until I find a friendly galleon on the same server to have one of their guys back out and me get onto their boat one at a time until we switch boats with the whole crew.. even that isnt ideal .. because we might be on a new boat and get our loot. and i might be able to go over adn kill the guy in the brig now that im an enemy to him and not a green name. but ive also inconveinenced another crew and they are now stuck with him for who knows how long .. FIX THIS no one minds sitting in the brig when theres a few forts worth of loot on board.. if not kicking them after 15 mins in brig , maybe make it so person in brig recieves nothing on cash in ,, by the time we swapped boats our 4th went to bed . this is complete bs and we should be able to call these ppl out on the forums as they are absolute garbage

  • @christyxo
Here’s something you guys can read
    https://www.seaofthieves.com/news/top-feedback-points

  • @bobbythemod Thanks. I have read this but they haven't openly acknowledged the bug that allows you to break out of the brig and continue abuse.

Use of the brig is just going to be abused whatever they do but private crews as they suggest will help.

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d This is why i think the brig doesn't work. If you legitimately put someone in the brig they still benefit, but if you remove the benefit, you WILL see players putting the hardest working crew into the brig as you get to an outpost, and the slackers taking the money.

  • @christyxo I've never been in that situation as I dont play with many randoms. I think 15-20 mins in brig you should get lazybearded out or something .

  • @christyxo yep, it’s a shame and it’s really easily to replicate as well :/ hopefully they patch it quickly like they did with that barrel in the galleon that shot you 10000 Miles per hour out of the ship and would be abused (somehow)

  • @bobbythemod they always patch the dumbest things the fastest

  • Yesterday I joined 3 different random crews and all of them put me in the brig for no reason at all. They did not even ask me to leave before putting me in brig. 4th time I was put in the galleon with another player and we both went to skeleton fort and killed around 5 waves and then that guy left and I got sunk by skeleton cannons. I re-spawned into new ship and was going back to the fort to finish it . Then 3 other players join my ship. They immediately put me in the brig after joining. I talked to them with mic also wrote in chat that I have already half done the fort and asked them to go to finish it but they did not listen me and kept me locked inside the brig.

  • @p0pc0rnh3mer01d "seeing the loot we have on board doesnt make them want to leave when you brig them ... there is no reason I should have some troll sit in my brig for 2+ hours" hmm...so he join the game, you probably instant put him in the brig for 2 hours for no reason AND he is the troll? Hilarious.

  • Getting vote in the brig should restrict you from getting any reward if your mates sell the loot. Also if you join a game with a crew that has loot the crew should have an option to vote whether or not you should get rewards from the loot they currently have.

  • How do i go about reporting a cheater if I have video evidence of him escaping the brig and throwing our loot overboard and then laughing?
