Please decrease the randomness of item values

  • Whenever you sell an item at an outpost the amount of money you get varies quite a bit. It's especially easy to see when selling multiple things of the same type consecutively.

While I don't think that's a bad thing overall (seems more natural if not every chest of the same type you dug out sells for the same price) the range of the prices seems to be way too big right now. Sometimes the same item may sell for only half the gold you recieve the other time, which makes it quite disapointing.

It also deminishes the importance of high-level items if they may sell for about as much as a lower tier item, just because one got a high-roll and the other one didn't. So my suggestion would be to lower the variance, maybe to 10% up and down to make it more consistent.

  • This ^^

I’ve had captains chest range anywhere from about 1300 to 600. Just seems crazy. I’m also curious to know how quests proposed by different levels of players affect everyone’s gold take. Do you get the amount based on your own level from that faction, or based on the player who proposed the voyage?

  • @snazzbox I would guess the level of the person who bought the quest influences what kind of chests you get and how many objectives there are, but when items are delievered everybody seems to get the same amount. I guess the game just "throws a dice".

I think the worst scenario is when people cash in stronghold chests and skulls and get less than from a high roll captain's chest.
