Game crash Kernel Error 41

  • I literally can't find a "technical support" category on the forums. but okay...

I have been recieving crashes and when looking in the event viewer it's a Kernel Power Error 41. thing is, It seems to only be happening in Sea Of Thieves, in fact I was able to replicate it twice.

hop on sloop, raise anchor, drop sails, float about 6 feet. crash.

I just tried playing Elite Dangerous for about 30 minutes doing various activities and nothing happened. Going to try it on a few other games. I just find it peculiar that it seems to be only happening with this game. is there any known issues regarding this?

  • Commonly the kernel Power 41 error is related with the driver’s issues. If the device drivers are old or outdated than this can be a reason behind facing the error. So here check for the outdated drivers. Apart from that many users confirmed that sound card drivers are causing the error, so check for it.

Or else if this won’t help you then disable the Power settings in Windows operating system.

I've tried all of those fixes and I'm totally pulling my hair out. Sea Of Thieves is literally the only game on my PC causing these crashes as far as I can tell.

Considering how complicated PC issues are, I don't know if this'll help, but I went through several months of issues with my computer shutting down due to KE41. In the end, I found the fix to be changing the sleep settings on my Samsung 850 evo ssd so that it never enters "sleep" mode. I didn't see the problem attached to a single game, though: my Pc would just shut down a short while after starting up.

Good luck; that was a total pain to fix.

I'll give it a try I suppose. do I need to do this for all drive seperately? I run 3. a boot SSD, a secondary HDD and a large WD green drive for storing media/precious things.
