Teleporting Cheat

    I was curious if anyone else had experienced issues with this? It's the first time I have witnessed legitimate trolling and cheating at a Stronghold. We typically win Strongholds, usually don't get sunk and manage to sink ship after ship after ship. Luckily, the new spawning has helped that a little. Today, however, something very strange happened.

    After grabbing the key and running as a ship came up, they chased us a solid hour before claiming they "gave up" by messaging one of us along with other things such as, "we server hopped," "getting so much loot, sucks for you," "lol", etc. Naturally, we didn't buy it. We sailed another hour or so and looped back, found their boat behind a rock by the fort and sunk it. Strangely, there was no one on board at all. No mermaid appeared. It just sunk. Little weird...How did they manage to park way out there and get to land? I mean, someone might have just stayed below deck and died so we assumed the others were on the island.

    A little suspicious, we went to the fort and circled it while two people searched that island up and down, every bush, every cervice, every level of the fort, behind the rocks, in the water, in the towers... We were convinced something was off, but after ten minutes, there was no sign of them or a mermaid. We parked and opened the door. Instantly, they were behind us, shooting us in the back. We fought valvantly, but all died. Luckily our ship was there so we managed to defeat them afterward as their ship was not there...but it was already off shore approaching, another strange thing. If they'd all just jumped us, who was sailing their ship?

    We grabbed the two valuable items and ran to our boat, lifting our ancher just as they broad sided us with cannons. Is there a place on a stronghold island that wouldn't trigger a mermaid? If your boat isn't there...or even in sight, aren't you supposed to have one? There was also weird instances of them suddenly popping up in our lower decks despite rigourous attention to forgien boarders. I am not one to cry wolf but that whole scenario, all the while they were harassing us with trolling messages seems very, very suspicious.

    I hope protection from cheaters is on that way...anyone else had issues with teleporting players?

    Nah, youve fallen victim to the cheat client thats going around atm. Grants insta reload of cannons, teleporting to specific players, wallhack/aimbot cheats too and many more.
    Rare are aware of it and have posted that it will probably result in a perma ban so i appreciate it sucks for you but its a small percentage of the playerbase currently and you can have comfort knowing that someone wont be getting their £50 back.

    Youll find that the pass users that are cheating will probably have gamerID bans instead so sucks either way.

    Unfortunately the same problem for our team tonight.
    At the end of a fortress, a sloop and our gallion we turn around to fight for the loot. The sloop is far but doesnt shoot.We dont shoot either, continue to move forward , when suddenly one of the players appears behind the bar of our ship.We put ourselves at 3 to shoot him, he doesnt die.He kills us all 3, in 3 shots, without any problem.
    We come back on our boat and it swims around us, we look at the ladders, and when we see it, we shoot it ... Second shot, the player teleports the ladder on the deck? !!

    We finally leave and drop the loot because we had some treasures in the hold.The player, always present on the ship jumps into the water with our biggest treasure, we jump to join him and .... OH he disappeared . Literally gone. His sloop was not here, he was at the fort a couple of islands away. I dont understand how it's possible not to react to this type of cheating. This destroys the game of real players and those who love SoT.

    Maybe it's difficult to patch the hack, but in this case, please let us disable the cross play for now.

    Saying all these sarcastically before others get to it. I've been a victim myself but that's what you get with forced cross platform. I'm not saying all PC players are cheaters I'm saying all cheaters are PC players. See what I did there?

    Hi, as a PC player who despises cheats, I’ve had a few occasions playing this weekend where a galleon has appeared parallel to my ship seconds after I’ve dropped anchor with a totally clear 360 horizon. I’m talking from a totally clear view to a ship appearing practically on top of mine within four seconds.

    Rare needs to identify and permaban the cheaters. Better still, put hackers and cheats into the same server instances with each other to give them the gameplay experience they truly deserve.

    That really sucks, I hope they get their Gamertags banned from Xbox live, which would mean they lose everything they have on the account, not just Sea of Thieves.

    I have only been the victim of 2 hackers, both were playing together though, and I met them 3 times on 3 different days(It is a wonder how they were still playing). They were only using subtle hacks though, nothing as obvious as to what you encountered.

    I hope you reported all of them and that they get perma. banned.

    This happend to me and my friend aswell. We defeated a skull fort, took the key and ran back to our ship. As we arrive we saw a sloop nearing us. We got chased like 1 hour then we decided to fight back. We managed to sink their Ship and head back to the fort. When we arrived I climbed up in the mast checking our surroundings. No ship in sight we checked every corner of the Island aswell. Then opened up the vault. And as we did we get shot in the back by a blunderbuss. They were back somehow. When i respawned i saw their ship cannoning at ours but only 2 minutes ago the horizon was calm and no ship to be seen...

    If a PC player used gamersharing on the Microsoft account they could play Sea Of Thieves on ''throw away'' accounts.

    The main account is never played on that purchased the game or has game pass.

    Only the new accounts get banned and they create a new one fast.
    Sharing access to the game, xbox live and gamepass.

    How is Rare going to stop PC cheaters that keep doing this?

    I have experienced pc players using aimbot and can't be killed.
    They admitted to cheating right in the text chat.
    I would like an option to opt out of cross play on Xbox One.
