Hi All,
First time posting here and have been enjoying playing the game. Got a question and have tried looking through the other conversations but have not been able to find it apologies if this has already been raised.
Was wondering if there is there a way to release animals caught in coops, creates or baskets that are not the correct catch without killing them?

The only way to empty a wrongly filled cage is to kill the occupant, I'm afraid... How you do the deed is up to you... ;)
I suggested this in a different thread.
Should have a long hold of the drop button and it would release the animal.
This could be for as you said picking up the wrong chicken without having to kill it.
Or as i suggested, releasing a island full of snakes in the hold of your ship to guard your treasure Indiana Jones style. Or releasing pigs at the tavern just for fun.
Many possibilities for fun.
@theshaman73 I was at first just thinking about releasing them back into the wild, but your suggestion is so much more fun.
Release snakes on another ship, chase pigs around the tavern, even "release" them into a cannon. Hey, if they're going to let us shoot our pets out of a cannon, then why not let pigs fly?

O_0 i didn't even think of the cannons! Or releasing on other ships...
