Here i want to focus on obtainable creatures and monster concepts that suite the SoT theme, locations and background. Think of animals or enemies you quickly associate and likely associate with pirates, the seas and the general 3 location themes that are in the game. Thats hopefully what we can build here so please post anything.
--Wildlife and Animal NPCs--
-Jaguar, Panther, Tiger-
Big cats that prowl or own particular islands. The can lunge onto your back and do decent damage. They have a path/home on their island, are high end merchant alliance quest targets, and collecting their tooth is a Order of souls hand in.
-Crocodile/Alligators-
Lurking beaches, shallow pools and the outskirts of the islands. They are overall pretty passive unless provoked.
Warthogs
-Like on many Caribbean islands these tusked warriors hide in the bushes but are fast and dangerous. Tusks are Order of souls and can be caught for merchant alliance.
-Sun bear-
Like the sunbear in S.E asia this foe is rare, dangerous and paths the middle ground bushes of larger island
-Komodo dragon-
Like the crocodiles these guys will not attack much unless provoked, their bite has a poison dmg effect (same mechanic as snakes, maybe weaker dps Dot but longer time overall doing dmg. Again high end merchant alliance and tooth is order of soul hand in for quest.
-- Water NPC--
True Great white- Make a very large shark model that nearly kills you in one chomp. Mainly seen in deep ocean only.
Black tip / reef sharks - Smaller model of sharks that swim the shallows of islands do reduced dmg.
-Squid-
Seen in deep water these guys blacken the water and try and pull pirates under, known to spawn near sunken wrecks.
-Stingray-
Passive, fast rarely do they hurt pirates unless stepped on while jumping of the boat. will swim off right after.
-Sea urchin-
Unless stepped on they do little dmg, spiky an thorn patches can be seen underwater near beaches and tidal pools. players can pick them up and place them down, but besides that generally wont move.
Non harmful Npcs
-Monkeys-
They hang out in the bushes and trees of islands, often roaming in groups they can be lured into merchant alliance traps with bananas and thow d**g at pirates if angry (puke mechanic for d**g)
-Whales-
Rare, deep ocean npcs that can be seen via blowhole, tail slap and if your lucky full on breach.
-Dolphins-
Rare shallow spawns that are fast swim in packs and may play alongside your boat in the waves.
-Turtle-
Larger turtles spawn in mid ocean, smaller ones closer you go to the islands . If killed pirates can hide in the shell similar to a cannon and be protected from some fire and blasts.
