Every session I get into there are always those players that attack you and even if you try to communicate with them and say you don’t want to fight they will do it anyway. Rare should fix this and add a feature that allows you to choose the type of server you want to play on such as ones where you can’t attack others without a reason.
This Community is Toxic
Sigh...
These forums are a waste of time...
Not sure why I keep reading threads.Where is RARE? I want to hear how they're going to add something to this game ASAP - Right now even I'm starting to attack players because I'm sick of digging up chests and the doing the same mind-numbing missions again and again...
What kind of online open world pvpve games do so many of you play where you're not constantly hunted by other players? From ark to rust to literally every other game I've ever been in where you have free reign to kill another player you ALWAYS treat that player like they're gonna gut you at the first chance.
I'm legitimately curious as to how this is a new phenomenon...
@mastucauz I started to make a post explaining it all etc etc etc, but yeah lets just go with these post are toxic lol.
@freecolinoscopy PVP folk get the biggest kicks from fighting with the people who don't want to, you basically just made em c*m when you said you don't want to fight. Bullies at heart a lot of em that is why they are so adamant that PVE/invite only lobbies can not happen it would ruin their kicks...
@endosku11 They will, have you not spotted all the wanted and missing posters, the books and so on, all those are going to be real quests with real story all with high coin prices to start.... I know they say its only pets but you will be buying coins in no time which is why the Merge World system is designed the way it is, to make the chances of you getting back to port with your loot a lot less likely. This game could of been something great but it looks like it is just going to be a pocket liner.... Lol to think 50quid for a empty shell that is getting a coinstore.... Magic aint it.... don't worry Ill soon be gone from these forums I've nearly got over what it could have been and I Can't see any good changes in the future...
This game is Sea Of THIEVES, we are PIRATES. That's it. A lot of people will kill on sight and it makes sense to because they might get some loot out of it. Some people will be nice and friendly. But you have to play with the knowledge that someone can turn on you at any moment because like I said we are PIRATES, playing passively is fine but also will probably put you at a disadvantage against literally anyone that will kill you on sight
@mastucauz Yeah, I think the community is starting to calm down a bit, for what reason's I don't know.
@mastucauz that's because the 2 week xboxgame pass has run out .....plus people are getting the hang of it.

Yea thats true@mastucauz I'm not sure, I'm really not. I'm a big pvp player and I think its fine to have fun, but for a while there the sea's were filled with conflict. Believe it or not, I kinda backed off pvp a bit to give everyone some breathing room in hopes the community would reach a balance. Hopefully that's beginning to take shape.
@mastucauz We have encountered the same thing lately, a nice change also we help each other with achievements etc.
Two sloops Vs a galleon, and we shared was coolI'm sure pirates were "Toxic" it's a game called sea of thieves not sea of gentlemen. As nice as it sounds to try and out run other players to get to a "safe zone" so you can turn in that booty without worry I don't think it'll ever happen. The game is pretty much based around PVP so adding safe zones would just upset more people and go against Rares vision of a pirate MMO. Ain't no safe zones in real life.

No SAFE SEA too 😄
@mastucauz I do love pvp, but if you attack on sight every time, I feel like its a bit too much. Sometimes we demand crews drop but a single chest overboard. None have so far lol, but atleast we gave them an alternative.
I try to keep it interesting though, we once shot up a 2 man sloop enough to slow them and demanded that they drop anchor, we boarded and they had no treasure, so we gave them some of ours. Pvp is fun and I love it, but it doesn't always have to be about killing people and sinking ships.

Wow nice!
U can read this, that’s appen to me :)
https://www.seaofthieves.com/forum/topic/48838/6-stranger-man-3-different-crew-3-different-sloop-fort-downAdding bounties to specific players would be an entertaining addition. It's how to find these players that'd be tough.
It's a pvp game. So, I don't consider many pvp'ers killing me or stealing my bounty (if it happens) much of a surprise.
But, a parlay system that can merge crew's somehow would be neat. But we have that. In basic communication.
I feel adding some sort of parlay system would be tough, it's only value would be to add some benefit to parties actually sticking to their word, which, again, pvp game.
So I'm not sure how it'd be done, well.
I can say having a safe zone outpost where crews could meet safely, that'd be valuable - you could have a central hub of sorts to allow broader, safer, communication between crews. That could be cool.
I hate how people are using the excuse "It's in the name" So what. Some people don't like getting into fights with everyone all the time. The game mechanics are fun the world looks amazing, but because it's name is Sea of thieves we can't have PVE? It can and it should. Being singled focused gets these kind of games c****y communities i.e.(Rust). Not to mention the unbalanced mechanics of computer vs console should be reason enough.
It would take a lot of more content for PVE but that already in the pipeline.

Maybe you should search and read a little...

We've made decisions where all quest rewards are physical, and all of that stuff is never truly yours until you get back to the outpost. We believe in the paranoia of having that stuff on the ship because you know that someone can come and take it.
We've deliberately said that we don't want to have safe zones – that's why we give you a spyglass – that's why we put the right number of outposts around the world so you've got the choice. Can I see masts there? Do I go there? Is there gonna be people there? All that paranoia is what leads to the drama, that "high high." To have that "high high" you've got to have the "low low." One of the things we've strived to do early on strikes the right balance of "loss."

Sweet.
I hadn't read this, but I understood the design intent after 10ish hours of play.
Good on rare for delivering on their vision!
Folks keep labeling this an "early access title" but my read on it has been that there is tremendous considering and intent behind the relatively simple tools/gameplay components which make up this game.
@dasgrobvater eh so many people praise rare for such a basic game when its just them being lazy. They did'nt want to put the work in to balancing things like ships, stats and weapons thats why there is only 2 ships, 0 stats and 4 weapons.... Call em what they are, lazy thieves
The vision behind the Sea of Thieves world, griefing protection, and more
