Shadow Bugs and Screen Tearing

  • So I got the update the other day, I'm on PC btw, and normally the game runs pretty well. So I get on after the update and I see these weird shadow bugs. At first I thought it might be a game event or something or being just being a specific part of the ocean. What I was seeing was that clouds, islands, and everything seemed like a silhouette, being pitch black. I couldn't tell whether I was heading towards an island or a cloud. Underwater was pitch black excerpt from what was directly ahead of me. Storms looked like big swirls of black dots. Islands appeared to be displayed as bigger even from far away but that might have been just me. The game is still very playable but a lot more difficult and quite annoying. I also noted that these effects only occured when there was screen tearing on the loading screen, often the top and bottom of the screen being cut from the screen before. The little poem isn't where it should be, often glitched above or below the line, and the line below the g would last in the little border space after the poem went on to the next poem. The wheel in the bottom right would spin around and leave a circle. I believe the term for this is screen tearing during the loading screen. I've tried adjusting all of the settings and nothing seems to fix this. So I tried reinstalling the game, and the glitch reverted once, the first time after reinstalling. Then, it went back to doing this glitching. The screen tearing didn't happen when the game acted normal. Every now and then, the game will randomly start the correct way but the very next time starting the game it will revert back to the glitches, without any settings being changed. I am playing on a laptop and I have tried plugging into a different monitor and setting said monitor as the only monitor and still this glitch happens. Even when there aren't any clouds and the sky is clear, there is a black layer right above the ozone. Has anybody seen this before? Does anybody have any fixes? Thanks for the help
