Joining a crew already in game and having connected crews

  • It would be awesome to be able to pick up your friends mid voyage without having to back out of the game entirely to collect your friends. It's hard to coordinate an EXACT time to hop on and sail.

Also, I can't be the only pirate to have 10+ friends playing and it would be amazing to be able to form a fleet and sail together and work together and protect each other. Pirates had alliances and more than one ship. Just sayin.

LOVE the game so much though. Great idea and thank you so much for this experience! Already the most fun I've ever had in a multiplayer game.

  • Agreed! It's a pain to have to return to menu when there is room on the ship for additional players! (I.e 3 players on a galleon ship picking up a 4th player).

  • Bump! I can’t believe more people haven’t brought this up. It’s dumb that in order for me to join my friends they have to quit back to the main menu.

  • They're working on adding this.

  • @soehlm4n First point is already being worked on in terms of being able to lock your crew and invite friends as and when it suits.

I don't think the second point would really work with the current set up. With (I believe) only 5 ships per session, allowing crews to ally with each other would cause quite an imbalance in game.

  • @luciansanchez82

It would work if they added a couple more functions to the game, such as increasing the amount of ships per session, and in doing so change the way the missions are created (if the game notices 4 ships in the wilds, then the quest would be given for a different area of the map so you have some ships spread out). 5 seems like an awfully low number, was that a released amount or an estimation?

  • @th3acclaimed Honestly I'm guessing at 5, it's a low number for sure though. Reason being that the idea is you shouldn't constantly be seeing other ships about and that encountering other crews should be a special moment.

Can also imagine there are technical restraints and performance considerations involved when it comes to the number of players/ships per instance.

  • @soehlm4n hoists stein and gives a hearty "arrr!" in agreement
