There has been one positive to this game:

Since I had the GamePass (and got busy and forgot to cancel it), it exposed me to the fact that the console adaptation of Cities XL was actually pretty solid. I mean, it's still nothing compared to the PC version, but now I can build up a town whilst laying in bed before crashing for the evening vs. having to be in my interactive media room.

no actually they dont. i have HOURRRRRRRS played and got a refund in less and an hour. just chat with them through support they WILL refund you.

@lowbei Regardless, people with even 70 hours are getting refunds through MS support system. They are doing the same damage control that NMS did on steam and GmG.

Unfortunately the trailer is very honest and correct. I'm still enjoying this game but my enjoyment and friends playing is definitely on a sloping curve. Trying so hard to love this game.

its true people. i put in for refund and they gave me 5 times what paid. so i bought 5 more copies b.c this game is AWESOME.

@lowbei You can be in denial if you like, but you can just type "Refund" in the search bar and see people who are founders and otherwise getting refunds because they don't like the current state of the game.

I once got a refund for a season of a show even though I had watched a few episodes despite the fact that their policy said no refund in the case of having watched some of it. So there refund policy may be stricter than most of their competitors but they are willing to make exceptions.
