I think that the game is definitely in need or more content that makes sense and can actually contribute to the flow of the world and the overall gameplay.
The way that the skull fort is displayed in the clouds and is available to any sailors within that server allows for the best PvP experience in the game. (Good or bad)
The skull fort is good fun and the loot received makes it genuinely worth it, unlike many other activities within the game. To add a major event like that to each alliance, Merchant, Gold and Skull but changing the activity and reward based on the selected faction would make faction ranks more achievable, more fun to get to 50 and give you better results. Lets think of each as a strike (Shoutout to Destiny People RIP).
Each strike would be signaled by a skull cloud that already exists. (Skull Forts)
For Gold Hoarders, the strike could be what the skull fort is but having the rewards mostly be gold chests with maybe a couple rare tea crates or skulls. Maybe change it up a bit to make it different but it should remain very similar.
For the Merchants, the strike could be an Island, similar to a skull fort but much much bigger that you would have to explore and solve puzzles and explore caves and maybe underground and figure each puzzle out ultimately leading you to a vault containing unique rewards used mostly for the merchants alliance. Again, add a couple gold chests and skulls to add incentive and of course, skellys.
For the Skull Alliance, the strike could be a huge haunted skelly ship that roams the seas and has to be found and once it is found the cloud becomes visible within the server. The ship could have multiple floors containing cannons and the player would have to disable certain parts of the ship in order to board the ship and then have to fight waves of skellys on the ship and move down each level of the ship with each one getting harder than the other to get the loot. Just a major event primarily based on ship combat.
All of these could be achieved through a solo ship but obviously having multiple ships could make the experience more challenging or way easier. With these three events it would add diversity and opportunity to play with each style that the game offers being ship combat, player combat and exploration.
Then maybe their could be a raid or an even greater event that kind of combines all three into a huge investment with even more loot that requires some ship to ship teamwork.
Maybe a signed contract by a couple ships on outposts that would initiate this raid.
Just thinking out loud! This game has endless possibilities and that makes it so great. Let me know what you guys think.
