Restocking Inventory At Outpost

    I know some may disagree, but I feel losing your ship should have greater consequences. As is now you lose your ship and respawn at a random location with a half full inventory which is somewhat strange as who's giving me these resources? Wouldn't it make more sense to have to go to outpost to restock? The most obvious issue would be the merchant quest, but to be quite honest I think quest for ship resources should be removed. Being sent to search for resources your ship spawns with doesn't really make sense in the first place when you think about it. This makes the resources you find out in the world much more valuable as you won't be getting more resources after scuttling your ship as well as leading to interesting encounters such as perhaps maybe some pirates will wish to trade bananas for cannonballs. I suggest at outpost you have the option to ask the shipwright to refill your inventory in exchange for a sum of gold.

    Note: On a sidenote I'd like to mention that tags seem to broken as I can't seem to post more than one.

    Agreed.

    Ship loss is relatively inconsequential, apart from the loss of resources and gold (both of which are obtainable with ease). I wanted to form a bond with my ship, and fight tooth and nail to keep it floating, lament it's loss and celebrate it's survival. The longer it stays afloat, the more its legend grows; "The Unsinkable Galleon", know what I mean.

    Currently, I couldn't care less, as another fresh one will spawn promptly. I don't know what they could do to remedy this, perhaps a ship yard or something...

    The same goes for player death.

    As we saw from the now abolished death tax, there is no way that they will tax the loss of your ship... People will flip.

    @default-tzamas Yeah I figured this idea was the best middle-ground solution in terms of having some sort of penalty for ship loss as well as just making the current economy more interesting.

    perhaps make the shipwrites a sub-faction that rewards reputation for taking care of your ship.

    then give them a restock supplies option; instantly stock your ship for a gold fee. fee decreases as reputation increases.

    after your ship is sunk, reputation resets. you ships supply is low as it respawns and the only way to get your usual supply is if your visit an outpost.
