People jump to cheats the second you beat them

  • I was solo slooping and was turning in chests at an outpost. I see a duo sloop approach the island so I go to the beach and fight. I killed them both and decided they weren't console players based off their movement. I boarded the ship and I found a chest of a thousand grogs and multiple skulls and chests. I dropped their important loot of their ship and lifted their anchor. I sell the booty and they respawn and turn their ship. When they turned back they beached themselves and I kept killing them until they sank. After I killed each of them 3 times one of them and Ill keep it anonymous messaged me saying "f*k u" and "im reporting ur a*s u cheating a*s mf" and "get decent internet u poor a*s s**m" I understand why you would be angry after losing your chests but this was extremely toxic and I had the disadvantage but they were quick to call cheats.

  • @tinfoil11291 People can't be blaming themselves for losing that would be crazy talk!

  • @tinfoil11291 Hey, don't worry about it, in every game, especially open world games with pvp, there are toxic players, these people just need to learnt to get a life and not be as they are to people and take the loss on the chin.

I personally now have turned off ingame voice (through disabling mic in xbox) because of this, its saddening..

  • @thesme11yman I Understand that it would be too humble to say "I was outplayed and bested" but to call cheats is too much especially when you have an advantage in numbers."

  • @tinfoil11291 are you recently returning from some gaming break? Because this s**t is in every game, get over it, no one cares.

  • If they say you’re cheating and need better internet , don’t fret my fellow sea dog, you’re doing something right 🍺

Definitely, That's how any online game is now a days. I got called a cheater the other day because the guy thought I one shot him with a sword and I must be cheating! Alas, what he didn't know is my friend shot him in the back before I came in for the kill with my sword.

  • I see being called a hacker or cheater as a compliment. I know they need the excuse, and just laugh it off.

  • @torrcha I don't know if it's necessary to say no one cares because how can we fix issues if you ignore it and push it to the side, your opinion but not very helpful to the discussion. Most of my battles end when a ship sinks. Not when they bring the fight to xbox messages. I understand everyone gets angry but this is the first time in a while someone swears and calls cheats.

  • @elite-assasin87 Thanks, made me laugh

  • @soopavillain420 Yeah, good way to look at things.

  • @tinfoil11291 Shrug it off. They could have avoided that situation completely if they had just found another island. They grew over-confident and you handled them. It is easier to blame you than themselves.

  • @tinfoil11291 if I lose, unless I see clear signs of cheating (turning 180 and instantly one-shotting me or something really obvious like that) I'll say "good job" and leave them be, treasure or not. I wish more people were understanding.

  • I actually fought you once and you definitely cheated. Idk why you had to do that to me.

  • @vslash9 Lol, If I did actually run into you, sorry for sinking you and making you call cheats :)

  • @capt-gnashmaw People need to be more like you

  • @ghostpaw Never underestimate the 1 man sloop :)

  • @tinfoil11291 thanks

  • The problem is these people have zero proof! It all roots back to one video on YouTube that shows a hack. That means everyone who beats them is hacking and everyone they beat is horrible because even with hacks they lost. It's just nonsense.

  • Thors YouTube Videos floating around some of those cheater threads showing some kind of aimbot and ESP are not really helping the situation. Neither is the fact that there is no anti cheat in place, which is kind of unbelievable in itself.

But it does amplify the situation and if you look at those anti crossplay threads, people even go as far as calling all PC players cheaters.

Naturally this is not the case. Naturally only a small minority is cheating and naturally most people accusing others just got bested.

Even if there was video evidence, one needs to consider this: We do know this game uses the unreal engine. We do not know how far it might have been modified and especially whether the netcode was modified.

From experience I can say that this engine does really crazy things whentrying to compensate for bad connections. People with high pings actually have an advantage in PVP and people deliberately starting downloads in the background can do crazy things.

This will inevitably lead to people accusing others of cheating. You might think you whit someone point blank and yet he seems invincible and kills you. These situations can often be caused by the netcode. Yes this is frustrating and should be worked on but it is not a cheat.

However Info think that as long as we don’t have a proper anti chest and people see some bans flying around, there will be a lot of crying.

  • @tinfoil11291 yes, true, lot of whiny console players jumpt to cheats the second a PC player beats them.

Now you understand the frustration for a legitime, clean PC player, reading some nonsense in these boards.

There have been quite a few videos, but they get removed by mods. It's far from "zero proof".

I agree people are quick to blame hacking when they lose. However, the game does already have a hacking problem, and that is going to make people even more likely to assume hacking.

It's zero proof that someone used a hack against THEM. There is proof that the hacks exist. But the "rampant" hacking has NOT been proven.

  • @tinfoil11291 again. You must not game very much if this sort of experience is something new to you. Some people just take things to another level while some might just find a new game.
