Looks like that error code means "ACCESS DENIED" It's more a problem on your side than with the game.

Me too. Same problem. I have installed twice with no luck. Mistakes happen. I know they are working on the largest problems first. They will get to us.

This is the third time it makes for FORCE DOWNLOAD the game RE ENTIERELY.

First the game opened and closed instantly, then now i have this error same as yours, and now it is RE downloading everything AGAIN !

Do we have any communication on rare's part ? What is GOING ON ???

game doesn't even show up on xbox ap, paid for it but it didn't even download.... REFUND!

• There is 3 ways to go with this.
• The problem gets fixed.
• The give me a refund because i haven't played this more than 24 hours.

I'm with you, I paid for the game but it never downloaded and doesn't show up in my xbox app, every time I click on the game in the store I get error 0x00000005

At this point I believe they intend to exclude people using the Xbox Game Pass, especially those using the Xbox Game Pass trial to get a free hit at Sea of Thieves to test out the waters before buying, because as many reviewers have said, with the current lack of content 80$ or 70¤ is just way too much for the game.

I understand more features will come in the future for free, that may be so but that is in the future and not now.

Anyhow, the game is said to be fairly entertaining for a few hours, but having done the samey stuff over and over again it quickly gets boring, so people decided that using Xbox Game Pass trial is a good way to test it out and see if the reviewers are right.

And the Sea of Thieves crew now wants to exclude all Xbox Game Pass players I am afraid, a shame.

Looking at the guide you may want to be more specific about what you did to fix it, because I followed the video and nothing works. So the only thing that is brought to mind is that it either did not work for you, or that you set it to a timezone which it worked.

The order is important to make this work. First, let the game download all the way to the error message. Do NOT pause or cancel the download after it gives the error. Next, delete everything in LocalCache and LocalState folders and reboot. You should be good to go at that point. I believe the problem people are having is cancelling the install and then deleting/rebooting which does nothing.

I can confirm this! I tried absolutely everything and then I followed this and it worked. So step by step:

1. Let it download and try to install. Do not close the store or cancel the installation-attempt. Wait for it to "fail".
2. Delete all the files in LocalCache and LocalState.
3. Reboot
4. The PC will automatically finish the installation of the game before you even have started the store again.

Give it a try, hope it helps. Nothing worked for me until I tried this and I never thought it would work but it did.

Same problem. Just giving me an Error message every time it is installing Sea of Thieves. Trying to trouble shoot MS Store and my current update of windows to see if this helps. Try the same thing.

Deleted the game because of a lot of bugs (one weapon/weapons skin drop/quests dont update etc) than try to download agian, but couldnt because of error, amazing.
