Head back to the Windows Store app and click the 3 little dots next to your profile picture in the top right, from there you can click Downloads and Updates.
There should be a Sea of Thieves update either in progress or ready to download.
@awsomedoritos0 I know, I'm a little late but what worked for me is after going to the whole "Downloads and updates" there was a blue button on the top right of the window that says "Get updates" that worked for me. Hope this helps for other people.
@technolojay2014 Dude this is a year old post. And that was an error that should be fixed. Raise a support ticket. And BTW @Deckhands lock this old thread.

Edit: did you try to uninstall it and install it again?
Hey I can't update my Insider, I've had this issue for months for insider (its just insiders). I've done '...', 'Get updates' but nothing is available to download. The missed up stuff is that when I uninstall Insiders it uninstall Sea of Thieves official game and not just the insider version. I have reinstalled insiders and Sea of Thieves several times to see if Insiders eventually fixed itself with a version update but nothing fixes it (to play insiders not the official game).
