Death timer and skeleton fort issue

  • They need to make players who die at skeleton fort by other players spawn across the map or make them spawn on a remote island with a rowboat and make them go to a outpost for their ship. Its to annoying for sloops and galleons to die at skeleton fort and show up 1-3mins later max. You start running out of resources to hold your position and the battle lasts up to 2-3hours if the people are that intent on getting the loot

edit: General pvp id say people need increase death timers EACH time they die. It would help the sloops who are capable of constantly killing 4man crews but incapable of sinkn their ship cause they only have 1 cannon (which lets be honest isnt enough to do alot of damage to a galleon even if the crew is dead, they will just respawn and fix those holes unless your capable of killing them constantly) or didnt bring a keg with them. Would also help if enemy ships barrels floated in the water so you can loot their cannons and planks to resupply yourself

  • Ran into this at least 7 times... wasted countless hours at these forts they spawn too close... they loose throw on a different server or across the map... stupid to think anyone would enjoy seeing the same nubs with new supplies every 5 mins because they too much of a scrub to know they're out matched... sank at least 72 ships doing this... manage to survive for 4 hours... but gave up... doesn't seem fair especially for the amount of loot you receive...

  • I have to agree. Last night my crew (3 in total ) fought and sunk a ship 4 times in 2 hours they sunk us once at the end and that is cause we ran out of supplies(not to mention once they finally sunk us we took 2 of them with us and they kept calling us the other word for h*********s on the ferry).

If you sink a ship you won they shouldn't be able to spawn an island over get back and restart the fight. Either spawn them at the other side of the map or on another server.

I posted earlier that the death time should have diminishing return plus how many crew members are dead. So the first time you die your respawn is, lets say 30 seconds but if another crew member dies in that 30 seconds your timer is increased to 45 and theirs starts at 45.(this just adds 15 seconds so if you are only at 10 seconds left it is now increased to 25) This will make it where people actually have to think before killing themselves with a boom boom on their opponents boat.

This is a team game. Your death should affect your team.

  • Agreed. We had a Galleoon & a sloop trying to stop us doing the fort. We killed them every 5 minutes because they kept coming back. Spawn needs to be way further.

  • I don't think sloops should be tackling forts and hoping for much success. It is an endgame raid so pick a galleon and go in with a 4 man crew.

Otherwise take your chances and try to do it with one cannon.

  • I completely agree, there is no penalty for dying, you waste all your resources fighting multiple ships and they just come back a few minutes later, usually after a hour or so they agree to split the loot so it really just defeats the purpose of PvP.

  • @silly-old-elf Oh trust me i can sink gallons easily with a sloop if they do skeleton forts (cause they are normally anchored in 1 place) but i cant hold my position forever if they keep returning. I just did a fort and killed a galleon 3 times and had 2 sloops chasing me for 45 mins while i held onto the key (the sloops were camping in the area waiting for me to do the work)

I also join 4man crews but they generally arnt good if they dont communicate and i was locked in a 4 way galleon fight and it lasted 4 hours. we were crushing the other 3 galleons(we had 100 planks 100 bananas and 223 cannon balls and finally ran out)

My advice to you (if your gonna fight) is scuttle your ship and have someone return with a new one while you and your other partner defend the island. At least until they do something about the death timers or spawn locations. Its the best way to make sure no one gets that key.

If your a sloop just put 3-4 holes in the gallon then get on board and camp the bottom of their ship so they cant repair, its the only way to sink them (or get a gun powder keg and blow it up near the side of their boat and get on board and defend the holes you made)

    Edit: Happy sailing guys
