The Kraken stole my stronghold haul

    So here is a story about how you should always have extra cannonballs,

    My mates and I decided to take a strong hold we have done it all before, use the cannons to kill the skeletons blah blah blah, we also sunk a sloop and a galleon who were trying to get out stash,. You know the normal things that happen

    Anyway so we get the key grab the loot and see a sail coming in going straight towards us, so we had to gap it out of there asap.

    The thing was we used up nearly all out cannonballs at least 150 plus and we made the fateful decision to race to ancient spire as it was close and we can run the loot to shore while our ship keeps the others distracted easy peasy.

    So we are nearly at the outpost we can see the buildings and jetty when the dam Kraken rocks up! Well due to use only having about 20 cannonballs between us and no bananas we put up a valiant fight but we lost our ship and it took us so long to get back to the spot where we lost the ship the o LG loot floating was crates and the silver and gold.

    Long story short if you don't wanna lose 8000 gold spend the extra 15minutes on filling all the barrels full of cannonballs

    @a-roflmonster that is what I like about the Sea of Thieves.
    Do not get me wrong, it is really sad that you and your crew loses all your treasure but even the short version of the story of your adventure sounds really intense. And that is one part of the game for me: To share those adventures :)
    Heads up, the next time you have more cannonballs ;)

    @kiwikevkev Yea I'm not complaining at all it was great! Completely unexpected and the outcome sucked but that's the game, believe me we learnt from out mistakes and we now always make sure to have cannonballs spare for our escape run, usually half a barrel plus whatever we are carrying.

    I still havent even seen the Kraken once in about 30-40 hours gameplay. Id pay 8k gold at this rate to get an encounter :x

    Unlucky though mate. Can be easy to chew through those cannons when you use them as a tactic to fight the skele fort.

    Another good option is to go loot 2 unoccupied skele forts before going for the cloud one. Rock up with 12-14 gunpowers, plus another 5-7 on the cloud island and you can chew through waves in no time, hardly breaking a sweat.

    @rigging-rob Yer the Kraken sucks you don't want that trust me. And Yer it was poor planning on our part we didn't completely stock up on cannonballs we just wanted to get the fort in our defence we thought 200 would be more than enough... We were wrong.

    it is rumour that the more treasure you have the more likely you'd encounter the kraken. As this is only a rumour, stock your ship with castaway chests in discretion.
