My mates and I did a skeleton fort for hours battling the fort and another galleon for the skeleton key and after a long a*s time we eventually pulled away with it but we knew that they would be there scrapping left and right with the treasure as well so we were able to leave with the key and get away and we went to a different fort to us it. It didn't work. The fort was empty. I am writing this forum to tell you that if you get a key, use it at the same fort!! The one we used it used the key and the room had nothing in it!

Those empty skeleton forts. 😄He means that when you used the key on a different fort the loot doesn't spawn because that fort never triggered the skull event.
He opened the door and nothing was there just because of the loot didn't spawn in because there wasn't an active skeleton fort event there.@MacabreJam28266 What you can do is mark the fort that you did then you can run off with the key then, later on, go back to the island and use the key, Treasure will be there because the treasure spawns in that room if the skeleton event was active on that fort.
Im not sure if the loot de-spawns after a certain period.And yep, The forts were empty in the beta but i don't think there was a door though.
