Daily Objectives & Overall improvement ideas

  • Been playing since launch, loving it.

Must say im not a fan of the forum layout, needs to be a bit simpler.

ALSO not sure how/where to post suggestions, theres the mega thread with no real place to put this..

but here are a few improvement ideas that may or may not have already been covered.

    • LEVELING UP / XP SYSTEM ALREADY!!!!!! its an age old mechanic that works!!!

    • Daily Objectives (sell X amount of crates, kill X amount of sharks) or whatever it may be, leads to more gold / XP

    • Keyboard support for xbox users, because the xbox is compatible, as the built in options suck. or at least add north/east/west/south as its impossible to ask the person at the wheel if they can't hear you.

    • A reason not to be killed, because it doesn't matter when you die there is no impact.

    • Bounty, a reason not to try and kill everyone you see but a reward for killing those crazy ones.

    • More fruit and loot!

    • Mini games? remember Red Dead and that dice game/poker????

  • A few agrees, a few disagrees.

I don't think there should be a formal leveling system. I think that sort of runs countercurrent to the idea of an even playing field & the thrust of SoT. There are plenty of ways to institute progression without forcing a leveling system onto a game that really doesn't need one.

As for the daily objectives, that's an awesome idea, and it provides incentive to log on every day. You could even add something like if you complete every daily for a week (say six days to allow for server resets) you get an exclusive, time-sensitive cosmetic piece, be it armor or weaponry.

Minigames would also add a lot to the game. They have taverns at every outpost -- may as well use them for something. Liar's dice, card games, etc. An opportunity to gamble with dubloons and win more. This would mean, of course, that Rare would need to make taverns neutral areas to prevent players from settling their gambling disputes with a flintlock.

  • @tsar-barbarossa I see this a lot and people keep linking a leveling system to a damage/defense advantage against new players. Rare could just go the route of GTA where the leveling is just to show how much you play the game with no cap.

As far as for mini games, like a mini card game unique to this game I would totally play it.

Also! A record keeper of what you do. I feel this game needs it the most since everything is cosmetic.
