Is there too much salt in the seas we're sailing on or something? Here's a little story from yesterday about one of the most confusing, stupid, exciting, and annoying skull forts I've witnessed, (Going to make this short):
We were a sloop of 2, going to a fort. Our last fort wee did alone as a sloop without any ships which was nuts, so we tried again to see if it would play out good. We spotted a Galleon on our tail, so we distracted it from hitting the fort for 15 minutes. Another Galleon enters the fray, and they go at it. My sloop is sort of trying to be on the outer-ring of them, and rarely would the Galleon pursue us. At this point, there was technically no way we would win, so all we can do is harass and delay the fort, (because the respawn system is so garbage they would be back in a beeline). My sloop got away and hid behind a huge rock in the ocean, using our spyglass to observe the battle. Another sloop came in and seemed to assist a Galleon against the other. Once the skull cloud disappeared, we sprung from the rock.
At this point, this is where the salt happened.
On one hand, we wanted to assist the Galleon being ganged up on. My crew mate jumped off the boat with a gunpowder barrel and blew up the handicapped-Galleon, and they sunk. I drove away the other sloop and fired cannon at them in the rough water, while avoiding skeleton cannons. "Wow, you have such a s**t shot, kid. Wow, you're SO BAD KID"... I don't think they know it was all part of our plan to distract them while their big-daddy ship sank to the ocean floor. I yelled out that they should check their other ship, and they went silent. Oh, and the ship we wanted to help out that was being ganked just ended up shooting us so we directed it into a rock and they called us a lot of profanities. All in all, why the salt? This "kid", (mind you me and I'm a full grown man), outsmarted a sloop and 2 Galleons. So much salt it's actually hilarious. We then just ended up sailing away delaying their triumph making them look like idiots.
So, this is a pirate game, right? This was fun, but also extremely stressful and not needed. This is also strictly due to the god-forsaken spawn system because you know you'll see them again in T-Minus 5 minutes coming right back.
