Why are people so salty in this game?

  • Is there too much salt in the seas we're sailing on or something? Here's a little story from yesterday about one of the most confusing, stupid, exciting, and annoying skull forts I've witnessed, (Going to make this short):

We were a sloop of 2, going to a fort. Our last fort wee did alone as a sloop without any ships which was nuts, so we tried again to see if it would play out good. We spotted a Galleon on our tail, so we distracted it from hitting the fort for 15 minutes. Another Galleon enters the fray, and they go at it. My sloop is sort of trying to be on the outer-ring of them, and rarely would the Galleon pursue us. At this point, there was technically no way we would win, so all we can do is harass and delay the fort, (because the respawn system is so garbage they would be back in a beeline). My sloop got away and hid behind a huge rock in the ocean, using our spyglass to observe the battle. Another sloop came in and seemed to assist a Galleon against the other. Once the skull cloud disappeared, we sprung from the rock.

At this point, this is where the salt happened.

On one hand, we wanted to assist the Galleon being ganged up on. My crew mate jumped off the boat with a gunpowder barrel and blew up the handicapped-Galleon, and they sunk. I drove away the other sloop and fired cannon at them in the rough water, while avoiding skeleton cannons. "Wow, you have such a s**t shot, kid. Wow, you're SO BAD KID"... I don't think they know it was all part of our plan to distract them while their big-daddy ship sank to the ocean floor. I yelled out that they should check their other ship, and they went silent. Oh, and the ship we wanted to help out that was being ganked just ended up shooting us so we directed it into a rock and they called us a lot of profanities. All in all, why the salt? This "kid", (mind you me and I'm a full grown man), outsmarted a sloop and 2 Galleons. So much salt it's actually hilarious. We then just ended up sailing away delaying their triumph making them look like idiots.

So, this is a pirate game, right? This was fun, but also extremely stressful and not needed. This is also strictly due to the god-forsaken spawn system because you know you'll see them again in T-Minus 5 minutes coming right back.

  • Because a lot of kids play. Im in love with the game

  • @weepaperboats yeah the respawn system needs work badly

  • @nightraven12345 Yeah everyone knows that though

  • @samoclarkey i mean you say that, but there are still people who defend it.

  • The Sea of SoT is indeed extra salty. To be fair it makes me laugh hard when a galleon try to hunt us only to end on a beach when we sail away with our loot still hearing them swearing at us, like they deserved our chests more than us.

  • @aleidan We just legit sunk a galleoo twice in our sloop they had a raid loot on them we made 15k and they really should of realised when our ship is like 320k worth of gold....

Who would ever defend this s**t excuse for a respawn value?

  • -If your ship sinks in PvE, it should respawn nearby, like normal. This gives you the ability to recoup a mistake. Make losing a ship cost something via the Death Penalty, if needed.

-If your ship sinks in PvP, you should get switched to a different instance. No more endless grudge matches, if they got you they get your treasure fair and square.

-Once a skull fort begins, it should lock the population of that instance. No other ships should be able to join until the event ends, or else even if sinking enemy ships forced them off the instance and out of your hair, new ships hopping around would eventually show up in an endless cycle. Once the event is over, allow the instance to refill with ships to replace any lost.

This... not enough hugs in their immediate family system.

  • Arrhh Me thinks there be too much Sea-water in the blood! Get yer buckets out lads!!! We're taking on water!!!

  • I want a kick button for this game. Some salty player ruin the game because they join a lobby, not doing anything and not leaving althoug we pleased him several times because we wanted to play as 4 friends.
Instead they take gunpowder and destroy our ship while we were searching for treasure.
