Inviting friends to your solo sloop

  • I often hop on before my friends and start up a voyage solo waiting for them to get in. I would like he option to invite ![alt text](image url)them to my game vs losing progress on my current voyage and resources I’ve already gathered.

  • I second this. It's nice to just get on a sloop solo and sail for a bit, but I don't want to abandon my current voyages and resources I've gathered just to team up with a friend on another sloop.

  • Honestly, I'm surprised at and a little embarrassed for the devs because releasing a game in 2018 without dynamic group sizes and private slots is absurd. Have these guys ever made a game before?

  • Yes please! Would love this.
A drop-in/out via friends list would be ace.
Everytime my friend leaves for the night. I have to quit the game and restart solo to avoid a random player joining my session.
If another friend comes online. I have to quit again and restart a group game.

More control over this would be ace!
    Top idea!

  • It would be nice if you could talk to the shipwright and ask them to change your crew size. "My friends got online, please replace my sloop with a 4 person galleon."

  • @radroy76 This is also something I'd like to see.

Maybe not even an invite but at least an "allow friends to join" option so that it's basically a small sloop crew but with slot that can only be taken by a XBL friend.

Edit: same goes for the 4th crew member in a Galleon

  • @dresh That would be great! Halo 3 had that option in 2007 why can't we get that in 2018

  • It does feel rather shortsighted.

  • Completely agree. This should be easy to do right? Would also be nice to swap between a sloop and galley at an outpost for even more friends.

  • @radroy76 Solo sloop is solo for a reason. Either wait for them before starting a game or suck it up and quit.

No doubt, it's one of my main complaints. It's like they were designing the first multiplayer game ever and had no point of reference.

  • In one of the recent developer updates they mentioned they are working on adding additional control of player slots, I'm hoping this is what they mean. So there may be hope that this will pop up soon.

    EDIT:
Actually it wasn't from the video but the first post in the Mega Thread Player Griefing.

  • @padd thanks for missing the point.

  • Yes I like this idea. Either simply in the menus or even in the form of a switch or object you activate on your sloop to make it open to public joiners/initiate an invitation.

  • I would also like to see this also I'd like private gameplay on the galeon like today me and 2 other friends where on it waiting for my friend to get on and had a random join who refused to leave and ate the whole stock of bananas and drown himself with full inv of cannon balls and planks till they where gone
