I've been sailing solo for around 4-5 hours, completed a few voyages but I haven't come across a single other player or ship. Does anyone know what's going on? Or am I not supposed to see anyone if I'm playing solo?
Where are all the Players?
@pedanticpad Ever since release, my crew has encountered a ship every 15 - 45 minutes. I havent played solo, but I have battled solo people.
It all depends on what the people on your server are doing. It's very possible they are more vigilant and actively avoiding you. I've been playing solo sloop and while I see ships in the distance at least once every 5 minutes unless people are intent on pvp they are easy to avoid.
The map is fairly large so it's possible to sail all day and not have another ship encounter if you are avoiding them and everyone else is too heh.
Also depends on the makeup of the crews on your server. My understanding is the maps allow around 24 people so if everyone's in a galleon that could be as few as 6 ships. Where as if everyone's in a sloop thats a minimum of 12.
@sirnahme @PedanticPad Don't listen to this guy haha xD
@PedanticPad I always solo and love to gank at outposts ive tooken out galleons and gotten hours worth of loot from people Ive hardly done a misson xD plus my rep is outstanding! but anyways, il tell you one thing, when your soloing as soon as you spawn it goes threw the whole server base and takes more time then just joining another players crew. (I think) to spawn your own ship.
Just sail away from the outpost you spawned from (if your soloing) and players should spawn at the outpost that you spawned from and if your brave enough stalk them to their island and gank their loot.
I've been scanning the horizon, never seen another ship. I've been hanging around outposts too and never seen another player. I'll try and turning back to my spawn outpost and see if I can spot another player spawning. Isn't the game supposed to migrate players to busier servers to ensure you constantly run into other ships/players?
