Windows 10 XBox Live Disconnect every 15-25 minutes

  • Hey everyone,

    im not really sure if this is the correct place to post this but its the closest to a support area?

    So my buddy an i, are both playing on PC and were from Germany (i mention this because i saw some other peope that have the same issue and said that they are from Germany).

    We can play for around 15-25 minutes together and every time (after around 20 minutes) he gets disconnected from Xbox Live and he has to rejoin the crew.
    Because of that he is thinking about refunding the Game since its not really enjoyable if you have to invest around 5 minutes every half an hour. Also the rejoin crew function via Xbox Live also seems kinda buggy and does not work all the time.

    But the weird thing is, that another friend and i have no issues at all and can play without any problems.

    We spend hours since the launch just to get this issue fixed without any working results.

    We opend the ports for Xbox Live in his router settings and firewall settings.
    We put his router settings to max. safety instead of performance.
    We checked the connection directly in his Xbox settings.
    We reinstalled the Teredo drivers.

  • @esemier I'm having the same problem except im playing on my Xbox one X and I get kick off every 13 minutes. I feel you and I hope they fix this soon.

  • I'm having this issue too.. it's telling me my Ethernet cable has been unplugged.. Which has never even been plugged into my Xbox ever, always been wifi and I know for a fact that there's nothing wrong with my internet... It seems like when they attempt to fix one thing, several new things arise.. it's beyond frustrating when I'm trying to do bounties.

  • I've been running into this same problem since about 8 p.m. yesterday and it hasn't stopped since. I put a support request in, but they haven't said anything in return, I'll keep you updated.

    As i said. We play on PC and we tried both. Connecting via Lan and also via wLan.
    Having no improvement.

    Btw. Who do you turn in a support request? I honestly didnt find how you can do that.

    Maybe this will help:

      netsh interface ipv6 set teredo enterpriseclient

    After this you should be able to obtain a stable connection
    Note: This all has to be done on the command prompt running as an administrator
    To see if it worked you can check it with
    netsh interface Teredo show state
    There shouldn't be any errors anymore

    Thanks for your reply.

    At this moment we are willing to try everyting ... =D.

    We already tried to reinstall the Teredo stuff but i think with another command.

    I will keep you updated if it worked.

  • Hey Mate,

    i got the same problem and asked a good mate for help.
    We checked the same things and try to fix teredo.
    At least we could fix it with the following:

    • disable IPv6 on your router settings -> completly!
    • after that check your connectivity in xbox app (settings-network) = NAT Type should be "open".
    • play the game!

    Let me know after you tried!

    PS: you dont need ipv6 as someone told me ;D

  • @Esemier @Kannibalkill420 Okay so I just plugged in with an Ethernet and it seems to work. Have you tried this? You file it through the support tab, but I could not figure out where, I found it through an article. Try searching "connection issues". If you play on PC they were saying to change your graphics to "Cursed" or "Common". Hope this helps!

  • I have the same problem.. i also tried to everything the support page and other websites mentioned.
    Working with Teredo didn't help, deactivating ivp6 dind't help. I fail to find a solution that works.
    I got windows 10 for this game.. i payed 70€ and i am still not able to play this overpriced game.. sry^^' i am just a little bit frustrated right now..

    @Ruskor1337 you're a Godsent.
    Disableing the IPv6 in the Router settings resolved the Problem for now.
    We were able play 4 hours straight without any crashes.

    (Dont jinx it now!!!)

    @Okami8 you really should try to disable this as well.
    As you paid 70€ i guess you're also from germany.

  • As i sad: cant explain why. I got the same s**t and cried to a friend who is studied computer guy.. (dont know the correct word in english ;D)
    He checked all router settings, pc settings, grafic cards eg.. and after he found the xbox network port problem he feels, that ipv6 isnt necessary for all my settings (not only SoT).
    But at least, this could fit for Xbox players too.

    Provider where you get internet?
    Where are u from - germany? (if.. lets talk on german ;D)

    I was getting diconnects every 30 to 90min. btw I play on PC from germany. After checking my connectivity with XBOX Live (Settings - Network) I found that my NAT Type was "strict" and my Connection "blocked". So I tried the following:

    Teredo Filter (Fritz Box)
    Disabled the Teredo Filter within my router (Fritz Box - Internet - Filter - uncheck box)
    Result: NAT: "medium", Connection: "connected"
    Game: still keeps getting diconnects!!! (30 to 90min)

    Open Ports and Priorising
    Opened all Ports for XBOX Live, which are:
    Port 88 (UDP)
    Port 3074 (UDP und TCP)
    Port 53 (UDP und TCP)
    Port 80 (TCP)
    Port 500 (UDP)
    Port 3544 (UDP)
    Port 4500 (UDP)
    Therefor I went to: Internet - Filter - Lists ... and entered all of them also priorising my PC.
    Result: NAT: "open", Connection: "connected"
    Game: still keeps getting diconnects!!! (60 to 90min, finally I can turn in loot when I am fast)

    Deactivate IPv6
    Deactivated IPv6 in my Fritz Box by unchecking the Box at: Internet - Login Data - IPv6
    Result: NAT: "medium", Connection: "connected"
    Game: getting no diconnects!!! (I was able to play 4h straight)
    W*F???

    All my other multiplayer games work properly... and now MICROSOFT can´t get their game to work properly with standard settings??? I HAVE TO DEACTIVATE IPv6??? RLY???

    I guess Rare doesn't give a s**t about PC sales.

  • Yeah I've been hyping my friends about this game for a while now but I must tell them not to get it after all, this issue makes the game completely unplayable. Getting disconnected because reasons while fighting a galleon over the skull fortress is inexcusable. I shouldn't have to mess around with my router which is on factory settings to fully enjoy a $80 purchase.

    Completely inexcusable.

  • Anyone fixed this yet? I'm getting the issue after buying the game yesterday. Cuts out randomly, firewall seems fine as I turned it off at one point, drivers up to date, no issues with other PC or WiFi. Just crashes now and then on PC Windows 10....

    I have also exactly the same problem Esemier mentioned. Every 15-25 min I get kicked of the server becauce of „Cyanbeard“. I‘m playing with two other friends (GER), and most of the times (like 100% of the time) when we play, this problem occurs to me...
    Furthermore it makes the game unplayable for me, when I play alone, because I barely can finish one mission before I get disconnected again and therefore lose the mission and the treasure...

    I would blame „xbox live“ for this problem, because I never got disconnected from „xbox live“, whilst playing „sea of thieves“.
    Therefore I think the game would perfom better if it wouldn‘t rely on „xbox live“...

    I like this game, but in this state, to know that I have payed 69,99€, for a game that I hardly can enjoy makes me just desperately disappointed.

    -and whoever reads this, you can be assured I have the right hardware and sufficient network settings-

    We have tried some suggestions how to get rid of this problem „Cyanbeard“ but so far without any success... so to everyone who is also suffering from this nasty problem, I think we have to wait until it‘s getting fixed.

  • I aswell ,im still having this same problem. So many people having this issue and still no fix on microsofts end? We all paid allot of money for this!

  • @kannibalkill420 can’t say about the others because looks like they’re plugged in. But if your Xbox is on WiFi I guarantee that is the problem: use the Ethernet cable and it will go away. True of every game basically.

  • I am still getting this issue, nothing has changed. I have sent off a support form and all they sent back is that they are aware and that they are trying to fix it. They haven't decided to give us any compensation, to apologize, to say what the issue is, when it's going to be fixed or anything. Just that they are aware and that's it.

  • Is possible that every time we make a raid the connection of server go down???
    today we was in 4 in the galeon at the finisch of raid all the group of four disconnect
    ALL DISCONNECT AT SAME TIME!!! we lost the raid loot is possible this??

  • My game was working fine until I have to restart my Ethernet port on my pc. The game would disconnect in solo or in group after 5-10 minutes. I tried everything else and it didnt work. I was finally able to play for an hour by doing this. Go to device manager, network adaprers, ethernet adapter, click on properties. Go to power management and uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Go to advanced. go to energy efficient ethernet. Change to disabled. Click ok and exit. Restart may be required. Hope this helps.

  • @restless-frager same situation here i've literally sold this game to my friends and now i have to tuck my tail between my legs and tell them not buy it.
    this is the most frustrating purchase i've ever made
