So here is what I have been running into lately. Now I been playing from Alpha and I still don't know all the tricks yet so keep this in mind.
My last three seasons have been with green crews. Some I was playing with on their first session.
This is my favorite thing as I get to be their guide and get to see their first reaction to everything! I don't shy away from taking command but I want the help them learn the roles on the ship to get them off and running quickly.
Now for the problem, after running into experienced crews who are now bored with the game and are now just seeking out other ships purely for combat.
Fine it's a good way to learn combat and ship fighing, but and this has happen just about every season I play with new players. The other crew smell newbies and make it their mission to seek them out after every rez and destroy us. The only thing they learn is to hate the game. So many happy wonderful sessions end very bitter and it upsets me to see new player picked on so often.
The main problem is I fear for a lot of new players this will be their first and only play through and that's was their impression.
I don't want to hear " get good" this is a casual game not E Sports.
In conclusion to this long winded rant I have to say I'm worried about this game as new players are the blood of any good multiplayer game and this one is hemorrhaging them as fast as they are coming. The game pass is a good way to get the game running on high population but they haven't committed money to the game yet and certainly will not after being slapped around for hours by over agressive veterans.
