So I played solo this morning and had 4 situations where I met other sloops. Two times I was turning in loot and they rode up on me. One shot at me with his cannon so I slipped onto his boat cut him down and turned in his three chests. The other tried to sneak up and slice me down but missed and I made him pay. He had like ten chests of seafarer but one marauder I got ahold of. He wisely sped away after I stole that. I assume these people attacked me out of fear.
Try being friendly or observe. I didn't come at either of these guys and the second one I was about to leave and he came at me. Its possible they were cocky and just wanted to get my treasure too, but if they were attacking out of fear I would come after them I think its silly because it actually led me to want to do that for revenge. At any rate.. it gained me some cash and made me feel like a swordsman god haha.
The other two situations may have been the same guy I'm not sure, but I pulled along side him while he was doing a souls mission. I made it apparent I was friendly and we took on the horde together either twice or I did it with two separate peeps. It was fun and I hope I diminished a little fear of strangers for that player at least.
JUST BE READY! Don't get taken advantage of but don't smack the hornets nest either ;)
