I would like to start off and say I love the game and it’s concept is amazing great job Rare. I personally believe the amount of clothing and ship cosmetics are not nearly enough. We need way more clothing items and etc.
More clothing and customization
surprised no replies yet... Well, i completely agree. In fact, i was disgusted when i first loaded up the game and saw that many of the clothes seen in gameplay trailers AREN'T EVEN IN THE GAME. In fact there's only 3 or four unique sets of everything, in addition to pre order bonuses and such (Which don't really count as additional items in my opinion)
There is a Mega Thread set up here by Rare to discuss in game customization: https://www.seaofthieves.com/forum/topic/41284/mega-thread-in-game-customisation
Head that way to find a bit more discussion on this topic!
I would definitely agree! I remember playing NFS Underground 2 (which had the most race car customization options you have ever seen in a video game). You had to progress through the game to unlock new cosmetics for your car. Things like the body kits would unlock towards the end of the game, and the single player took a very long time to beat. It was a great incentive to play. The sheer variety of customization that Underground 2 gave the game extreme variety. I remember spending hours and hours creating new cars and tricking them out with different customization combos (I still get the game out and play it every once in a while just to customize a car and race it).
This same concept can be applied to Sea of Thieves. I'm not saying we should be able to put giant spoilers on the back of our ships, but there definitely should be lots more customization options for your ship and your character. I think the thing that the progression system needs most, is more customization options to purchase much later in the game. Maybe after getting level 100 in each faction, there are really really sweet cosmetics available. Maybe an electric or ghostly aura that surrounds your character. Maybe a skull head you can wear to make you look undead. Maybe glowing red eyes. Stuff like that would encourage many people to keep playing the game. It would also show other people how dedicated those people are to the game. In Halo Reach if you reached the max level at Inheritor (which could take a few years to get depending on how much you play), you would earn a helmet that had the visor removed to show a skull. It is the single coolest piece of armor available in the game. It encouraged people to grind their way to the top. It showed everyone else in game how insane and dedicated they are.
Well, sorry for my super long post. But I wanted to show how more customization options would benefit the game. Not only would it make it more fun to customize and collect, but it would increase the longevity of fun playtime in SoF! :D

no where near enough customization. Hope they are not waiting until micro-transactions to make this a thing.
COMPLETELY AGREED!!!
