Difficulty setting?

  • What do you think about having a difficulty setting before joining a server? Like, choosing between easy, normal, or hard.

Easy: double health (or half all damage taken), but earn 0.5x gold
    Normal: normal health/damage, normal rewards
Hard: half health (or double all damage taken), but earn 2x gold

For those that want more thrill or less grind, they can choose to enter the server on hard. Of course, everyone would still play together regardless of their difficulty setting (so the community isn't divided), this is just a personal setting that can't be changed unless you leave the server. What do y'all think?

  • I like the idea and the direction that you are heading with it, however I don't think it would collaborate well with a game that focuses on player interaction.

I feel like it would unbalance the game. Player's skill and combat strategies already set a difficulty for the PvP in the seas and I feel skeletons are perfectly balanced for PvE...although they could learn to miss a shot.

  • @renteddragoon46 I think the game is already easy enough, other than the amount of time needed to gather enough gold to buy something decent. Seems unfair, though, to allow some people to be on "easy" mode to get their treasure while others are on "hard." Personal choice, I know, but I think the developers time would be better spent elsewhere. Been playing for a while and haven't died once so I can't imagine how easy easy mode would be.

I agree, I personally just want the game to be a little harder but in order to have a more difficult setting there has to be some kind of reward attached so there's meaning in making it harder on yourself. I'm fine if they add just normal and hard modes, but I suggested easy just for the sake of inclusion.

  • The difficutly (and earnings) increase as you increase your reputation anyway. So, no such thing as a difficulty setting is needed.
