@an-idi0t-0nfire I actually want cross platform play and not for the pvp. In my opinion they worked towards balancing it good enough. I play on PC with both keyboard AND controller btw.
WE DON'T WANT CROSS PLATFORM PLAY!
@sir-rhavi Then if cost is the problem why not buy a cheap controller? I've seen them sell for as low as 15 bucks.

because unlike keyboards, which are basically all the same, Windows only recognizes official xbox controllers for windows store games unless you have some pretty good know-how of controller emulation software.

@sir-rhavi So give PC players an advantage then in a genre they excel at? Are you for real?
Yes, i'm very much for real, Xbox already supports keyboard & mouse and it is up to the developers to enable it or not: That being said, a cheap keyboard and mouse costs ~10 dollars if this advantage is so important to you, because nothing would kill this game faster then forcing a 60 dollar peripheral on the PC. And seeing how the FPS genre was born on the PC, having one that requires a controller would make it the most laughed at game in history. I also don't see many xbox players complaining about this since the hand-to-hand combat is a fraction of PVP itself, and aiming the cannons/turning the ship on the mouse and controller takes the same time/angle
Agree 100%. PC players love the options the platform gives them in terms of peripherals. If you've shelled out big bucks for a high end KB + M and a game is controller only, chances are you wont buy it. I choose to use a controller, but if Rare took away my freedom to choose it would irritate me immensly
@sir-rhavi Man, it's almost as if windows in owned by microsoft or something. And cheap official xbox controllers for windows store games exist for less than $20.

no no, those are third party Xbox controllers and have no support for windows, not Xbox controller for windows controllers. They are not the same thing.
Infact, the dongle to connect a regular xbox controller to the PC costs 45 dollars if im not mistaken.@An-Idi0t-0nfire Have to disagree, I think having m/k support on console is the answer.
@CptnCuttlefish I have to agree with @Sir-Rhavi here, requiring a $60 controller for PC play is a ridiculous notion. I also wouldn't agree that m/k support would give PC players an advantage. As someone who used to main console (and now mains PC but plays both) I completely believe that how well someone does in a game (after a few days/weeks of getting used to a new peripheral) is completely dependent on their skill level. I've played dozens of FPS's on both Xbox and and PC and I'll stick to that statement any day.
@cptncuttlefish it's not about the cost though, its about PC being a platform where people can build their rig themselves and choose every component, including peripherals. That's the spirit of PC gaming, go against that and your game is dead in the water for a lot of PC players.
ridiculous argument. Hexbox users have aim assist. Pc players have no sensitivity adjustments in-game, It's a pretty level playign field tbh. Have you seen how slow it is to aim when scoped-in on PC?
It's fair to say that those with a high-end gaming mouse with DPI adjustments can tweak it to gain a slight improvement - and I mean Slight! (if I crank mine up to full It's slightly smoother, but still requires me to drag my mouse a full length of my gaming mousemat 2/3 times to move a cannon up/down fully).
There really is no advantage / disadvantage. In fact, if you wanted to be nit-picky I'd say the aim assist was the more beneficial of the two, and that's a console only thing.
If this was a fast paced, twitch based competitive FPS then you may have a case. But I don't think you have much to stand on here sadly.

@sir-rhavi Why would you buy something that comes with the controller?
Because the dongle for the xbox is not the same dongle for windows? i'm not sure i'm allowed to link you amazon links, or i would.

The sensitivity on consoles are very limeted, the highest sensitivity is so slow, PC players have such a huge advantage over aiming, PvP just isn't fun. Give us Xbox only servers, £50 for this? What a scam.
You don't speak for me. I love that it's cross platform play so I can play with my friends who don't have consoles.
PvP is plenty of fun even with cross play. Y'all who keep crying about it just need to git gud.
@sir-rhavi I think you can. I'm curious now. If I'm wrong I can admit that, I just have a hard time believing that the usb port is different to the xbox is different from the pc.
It's not but on xbox you don't need the dongle for wireless connection. On PC you can play with your controller wired to the PC with any usb cable but if you want a wireless connection (kinda the point with a wireless controller) it's another dongle which costs not much less than the controller itself. Plus I've never found the wifi connection to the controller on PC to be reliable. Seems to need to be restarted every time I use it, although that might be something on my end to do with usb port power settings. I only really use the controller for SoT, Souls and VR
I am also happy about crossplay.
Yeah i am playing on pc. But we have some teammates that are playing from the box and we have much fun together, no problems in fights.stopping crossplay would be a technically backstep. wrong direction.
I think if there are an unfair advantage for one of the plattforms, we have to find a solution to make the chances even. for example kb&m or cusom sensitivity.. and so on.
Diverting resources to support platform-specific servers would be silly.
Speaking for the entire community is more so.
A significant number of users in this community support cross-platform as it allows friends/family to enjoy the game together. I've got a few friends that are on PS4 but can join my wife and me on PC. My nieces are able to join the fun on console when they're visiting. Removing that would nullify one of the greatest selling points of this game.
Just watched a guy playing on console last night, who has limited arms/legs movement and plays with just his chin and mouth, and he is quite good. You're embellishing the disparity between controller and MKB for effect. I hate to be the guy who says "git gud" but well...
Rare has taken steps to balance the cross platform play. For example, PC players are forced to have a much lower sensitivity when ads than console players. Cannon movement is a lot slower etc etc...
There's only a marginal difference in player performance (less than 5%). Rare have the stats from the betas and have spoken about it in their dev videos. They're happy with that result.
Bottom line, PC players don't have an advantage that causes an imbalance. Just practise and get better at the game.
@an-idi0t-0nfire I like that I can play on my PC or Xbox when being lazy, with my friends who own either.
And I was told in a game yesterday, my team were glad we were on PC, console players don’t stand a chance against us.
They also commended my sniping skill.I was on my Xbox....
I personally prefer playing on the PC for controls, but for this game it doesn’t seem to make much difference.
Vermintide I wouldn’t want to try on a console.I love cross play !!! I have never felt under powered VS PC guys if anything they seem to fly off boats in sword fights due to that increased sensitivity more than anything. I play with 1/2 PC guys 1/2 xbox and still depends on person more then platform in my group for who does best. I LOVE CROSS PLAY !!!!!!
Hey, i am a PC player and love to have the ability to play with friends that don't have the money to be able to get a PC, for us to be able to pick up this game and enjoy playing it. we all enjoy it. I personally am a PC player who has never owned an XBOX and have always preferred PS4. It's this game that i love so much from just playing so little for how expansive this game is. It has even brought a close friend of mine @TheZombie2214 to buy this game twice, once $20 and another $60.
It's not fair to sit, demanding that every PC player buy a controller just to play a game they purchased, and refusing to let them play if they don't use one just because xbox players have to use them. On the opposite side of the coin, it's equally unfair to tell xbox players they need to get an expensive and possibly clunky keyboard and mouse for their console that they purchased to NOT be a PC, just to get some sort of claimed "advantage" that has no statistical evidence provided. (And not claiming it to be in any way false, but if you're going to say that KB+M has an advantage over controller, you do need to show us why. Sell us on what you're saying :P)
It's a tricky storm to navigate through without making it unfair for one side or the other in some respect. You want to be all inclusive, but you can't be all inclusive without someone saying it's unfair, then if one problem is dealt with another crops up on the opposite side of the tightrope. It's an endless cycle, and in the end it's simply easier to release the game for both, throw both in there, and let players choose what's most comfortable for them to use.
All you can do is, I suppose, vote with your wallet and don't buy the Play Anywhere titles if you don't want them to keep being made because you feel they're "imbalanced".
@seamanstinkbrik I agree have played on xbox and pc. there is no advantage. its really all soft skill. which is good.
