Question: Do gunpowder barrels damage a ship from the outside?

  • If not, why? It would a huge change and a really good self defense for a sloop against a galleon. Also, instead of sneaking on board with them all the time you could just drop them next to a ship and blow it up. Makes sense to me!

The reason I'm asking is because we got chased by a galleon, I jumped off with a gunpowder barrel and blew it up right under their hull. They caught up with us again not even 5 minute later, didn't seem to slow them down at all. Could be they just repaired while going.

  • @airikr01 I do believe they were caught up again after about a minute or just above, so yeah didnt appear to do anything to them.

  • They definitely do.. We accidentally ran over our own explosive barrels that fell off the front of the boat. Not sure how they fell but suddenly they were all in the water and we were all hands on deck for repairs.

Also to respond to the Galleon.. you ran fully repair a Galleon no problem on the go. 2 guys constantly running with buckets and one repairing means you will never sink. I do think the ship should go slower when it has water in it, but it doesn't seem to change the speed for me.

  • @tonyferelli But but but... these guys were incompetent in all other aspects of the chase how did they manage to coordinate repairs? :D

  • Yes it's the best way to use them
