Is there anything you can do to get where you're going faster when you're sailing right into the wind?

I'd love to say:
yes, if you actually sail side-on and turn in a zig-zag path while adjusting the sails properly you'll sail faster!but they decided that would be too hard for SoT, so sailing straight is always a faster path.

@shofficer google the concept of “tacking”
that's what i meant in my post, sadly, it's not faster.

This is false. If performed correctly it is faster even in the game. I catch people constantly doing this.
@sir-rhavi Hey sea farer. Well it's tricky, but what did they do for real in times gone by when they needed to sail into the wind? I believe the technique was called tacking? You basically zig zag. Sail to the right or left of your destination to catch a bit of wind, and then turn back. It might not sound effecient, but it works and is realistic.
Method A: Tacking/Jibbing - A zig zag pattern to catch the wind as much as possible without too much course deviation.
Method A Cons: It will take you longer to get to your destination, and you'll constantly have to swing the sail around as well. Time consuming process if sailing solo. Better for a team
Method B: Sail slightly to Port or Starboard of your destination to catch a bit of wind, then as you near your destination, pass by and then swing around. Your return will give you full advantage of the wind.
(This is a preferred method for both Galleons and Sloops)Method B Con: You're taking a slight detour, lengthening your trip a bit.
Method B Pro: Much easier to do this when solo, and the travel delay is less than Method A.
