Q. Increase crew size in-game - add a friend to a solo Sloop or 3 person Galleon?

  • I did some searches, but could not find an answer - apologies, if I missed something.

Can we add, in-game, a friend later on? If I am solo on a sloop and a friend loads up, can I increase the size of my crew to invite them in? Same if we are three on a galleon, can we add a fourth in-game/mid-mission if they come online later?

So far, I have had to restart my game/session and change my boat to play with them. Is this the only way?

(PS: loving the game so far, nice to have something social to play now Destiny2 has hit the rocks).

  • The game is crying out loud for true 3 man/woman ship. Not 3 pirate ship in a galleon.

But if you select in game "make friend" it will add them as a friend on Xbox list. But ad far as I know your friends can't join you directly unless you're in a lobby I'm not sure.

  • I agree with this 100% So many times I am in the middle of a quest and want to add my friends. If I am forced to leave I will lose all my progress and my maps.

Also, I’d like to see being able to expand my crew beyond the size of the ship.

I complained about it in the beta and was just waiting to see if it would change in the main build, but it didn’t. This makes grouping up difficult.

I would also like multiple crews to be able to form an alliance (maybe a voting option in the menu) so that you don’t have to worry about friendly fire to other ships in a makeshift armada (guns not explosives or cannons)

Also, you should be able to go to the shipmaker and be able to change the size of your boat to accomodate friends either leaving or goining.
