    This game is really separating the Pirates from the wannabees. I think Rare was trying to tell you all something when they came up with the slogan.... 'be more pirate'. Pirates are not nice people (the ones we know in fictional works of art such as movies, books and television w/ Krakens, Mystical Skeletons, War, etc), they do not pull upside each others boats and have parties... they sink your ship and take everything they can off of it, even will r**e your women and slit your throat or let you sink to the bottom of the ocean by tying rocks to your ankles and making you walk the plank.

    Could you all please quit talking this trash about being camped at an outpost. Here is some advice before you decide to quit the game because you can't deal with it.

    If you are being harassed by MEAN Pirates, lol.. try this:

    1. FIGHT BACK (eventually someone will give in)
    2. Go to your options and 'Leave Game', and have another crew member start the game so you are brought into a different server/instance.

    Okay, here's what not to do.

    1. DO NOT come to the forums and cry about Toxicity and Griefing - BE MORE PIRATE
    2. DO NOT quit the game because you can't handle it. This isn't spring break where you can pull your boat up to another crew and drink Grog all day, although you may think it is.. it's not. This game is surrounded around WAR and MONEY... Instead look at what to do above.
    3. If you are sailing and want to turn in items for $ DO NOT stop at an outpost with another boat unless you are willing to fight for the items you are trying to turn in.

    Rare said it best... BE MORE PIRATE.

    Agreed - be more pirate. If you act like a sheep, you will be food for the wolves. Show your teeth, take revenge, because complaining here will not sharpen your pirate wits.

    Yep... Rare is even going to give you a penalty when you die (loss of gold, as if it weren't enough us real Pirates taken your gold.. they are going to take it too!) They really are trying to tell you something with their slogan.... BE MORE PIRATE It's so great to see the developer keep all the rich PvP goodness in place!

    Yea, it's like a lot of the players who frequent this forum expected spring break parties with boats pulling up and drinking grog and talking pirate, or whatever. What they got was closer to the real thing.. Pirates wanting to kill them, and take their stuff or drive their boat into an island and rock and sink it. In about 2 hours I will be sinking some more of them :)

    No mention of any kind of fiction here, this was implying real-life pirates were like this so I legitimately answered to this.

    And actually, most of the Pirates fantasies being wrong doesn't mean that SOT have to be wrong too.

    It's not "Be More Pirate That Are Not Like Real Pirates At All" as far as I know.

    Correct - based off fantasy pirates such as BLACK SAILS. What we know of Pirates on the screen and in other games, not how your ancestors had tea parties, and sailed the oceans for years, etc.

    I guess you haven't really looked into Sea of Thieves all that much? It has MYSTICAL skeletons.. It has a KRAKEN... Its game mechanics are built for WAR over GOLD..

    You can't seriously think when people are talking about Pirates, or even rare that they are referring to historic people in the real world - and if you do.. well man will you be disappointed.
