I was really looking forward to this game because I've been following it's progress since 2016. I was going to buy it today but decided to rent it to give it a set drive and boy am I glad that I did not buy it. I've never gotten tired of a game so quickly. I've never been so bored with a game so quickly. Ever. Question for customization? Really? That's it?!? Good thing I didn't spend $60!
That being said I DO love the graphics and game mechanics. They function really well and the landscapes are really beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing, but that's about the only thing I liked.
In my opinion this game could be improved with things like:
- Quests that matter, and that actually have a story and a purpose instead of "search and retrieve" to just change the way your character looks. I mean c'mon. who cares about that this much?
- Tiered weapons and armor- it actually gives you something to play for
- Safe zones or options to opt in or out of combat. I get that it's supposed to be an essential part of the game but its not enjoyable to have to start over because some idiot killed you or took your ship for no reason.
- Fishing? other sources of food than bananas? sleeping? It's lame to limit healing to one item only.
This game feels like it could have huge potential, and I like the concept, but as it is one day of playing was plenty to realize that I'm already bored with it.
