As far as I know, there is no PTT when playing this game with a controller. I play on PC and I would really want to use an xbox one controller instead of my keyboard and mouse but I really cant stand open mic.
I think the left and right D-Pad buttons are not mapped to anything. PTT can be one of them for example just holding down left D-Pad to talk in-game and release to mute your mic.
@bloodbaron1 I dont know how hard it would be but I would like to see xbox players with PTT. It's not everyone but a few people i've played with, it seems I was listening to their whole family drama in the background.
@death-by-pinga yeah.. an other thing I find annoying is that you are forced to be silent so it doesnt get akward when playing with strangers. controll your laud breathing, cant burp, cant f**t... (I know.. gross)
@legendarypikka you see.. I talk to my lad on discord while playing SoT and randoms join us and we talk to them in-game sometimes. having to physically mute my headset mic is not really practical. when you use keyboard and mouse, you can just hold left alt to talk in-game (when we are communicating to randoms) and me and my friend can still talk to each other in discord without randoms hearing us. If I had to mute my mic I could not talk to anyone until I unmute which makes discord obsolete. you get me?
@bloodbaron1 Simple solution my friend is party up with yer lad in the xbox app the sound quality is atrocious but it works i do it with my son all the time.
@legendarypikka still doesnt fix push to talk with controller. it only makes the experience worse for me and my friend. having to push a button on my headset just to call out random stuff and then push again to mute is far worse than for example just holding down left dpad to call out a ship or something to random crew members.
