Abusing the ability to put players in the brig

Alot of the times because not everyone has a full crew and just want to play alone they will vote people to the brig and leave them there to not interfere with what they are doing. The person in the brig is free to stay to earn gold but not really play or leave to find a new game. I think this is what most people are doing to solve non-full crews.

@j3r8z it is plain wrong though and it is ruining the experience.

Rare say they want to take the toxic nature out of multiplayer well in one machanic alone they have given trolls and idiots the biggest toxic vote in the brigg.

If it happens to me each time I start to try and find a group then I shall not bother plain SOT.

We stuck a random in the brig for a joke last night he saw the funny side he then ended up sailing with us all night (we obvi let him out)
the way you have written the gamertags on here is crazy what you describe they done sounds like they were having a laugh with you and youve took way to serious. no one will game with you due now due to you posting the . names. major wrong move

That said, I'm sorry to had this experience. At a guess I'd say they were probably waiting for a 4th player to join them and tried to get you to leave to make room (as far as I know you still get gold and rep from voyages while in the brig, so it wouldn't have been that). It's one reason they introduced the 3 person option as this was happening a lot in testing with people who didn't want a 4th crew member.

I think it was mentioned in the latest Tavern Talk that they will be introducing a feature to hold crew spaces for friends in the future (thereby resolving issues like this), but that it's quite tricky and can unbalance the game a lot, which is why it wasn't introduced at launch.

I don't think this is going to be enough, they should just suspend your ability to put someone in the brig when you're a party of 3 choosing 4 players.

What they should do, is that instead of locking the 4th person (the random) to the brig, the vote should just forbid them from using the wheel and lowering the anchor.

@darknebulous78 there's plenty of ways for toxic players to mess up your game. the brig is of course one but also throwing chests over board, taking control of the ships steering, and constantly dropping anchor just to name a few

I was just thrown into the brig of my own ship by 2 randoms that joined my game while I was turning in chests. They turned in all my good and then left my crew. This is kinda BS that someone can join my crew (was playing for almost 5 hours) and they can vote me in the brig.

Just get a mic and it will stop
