Ship Respawns

  • First things first,
The respawn locations for ships is ridiculous. Me and my 4 man crew have done 2 raid successfully but painfully. Whenever we sink a ship coming close to a raid island, they respawn practically at the CLOSEST possible place to spawn. We sunk a galleon 5-7 times before we finally got the loot and ran off. They just kept respawning and coming back over and over again. My suggestion is whenever your ship is sunk you either get transferred to a new server or spawn at the farthest/medium range place to spawn.

On a side note, I am really enjoying the game and am having a blast. This is without a doubt one of the best games I have played in a while.

  • I agree and noticed it from both perspectives. Me and my friends did like 4 or 5 forts on day one, and experienced the same stuff. And after that we decided just to mess with some people doing a fort and hopefully steal some booty. They sank us in a fair fight. I was surprised how close we spawned and how easy it was to go back. It was highly unfair, if u loose at a raid u're dead and shouldn't be supposed to be that easy to just recontest after being defeated. Because u can do it literally over and over as long as they are fighting the waves. If u defeat someone u should have that feeling of satisfaction and not "ugh they are coming back in 5min"

  • @d0minat0rxxx i agree, we sunk a server hopping butthat atleast 5 time at a stronghold event, the spawn needs to be at the furthest possible location.

we sunk their ship 5 times, and while we fought them 2 v 3 to get finally some airtime for the stronghold, by the time we were done their fourth guy was already back -.-, they gave up eventually jumping to another server but jeez man...

  • Me and @D0mInAT0rXXX play sea of thieves constantly, and every time we have done a raid we have killed a ship and that ship comes back within 2 minutes. This gets extremely frustrating because its wasting time. if they didn't come back 6-7 times we would have finished the raid a lot sooner. I personally love this game but think it needs a few changes/fixes. Like when your/a ship is sunk it should spawn at the farthest location possible from where you got sunk at. This way you/people can not constantly come back and contest a raid.

I would also suggest upvoting the main post to the devs attention.

  • Caught the tail end of BurkeBlack stream where the same Galleon and Sloop kept coming back and being sunk for bout 2 hours. I found watching it very repetitive and not enjoyable. At one point his whole crew was telling them just to go away, it's not fun sinking you guys. Glad I held out on this game.

  • 3rd day of the gaming being out and yet again we went to stronghold/raid and we fought a galleon 15 times.... not even an exaggeration. the entire time they talked trash. We ended up getting the loot like normal... but honestly we wasted an hour an half on one outpost/raid because when we kill them they come back within 50 sec...

I honestly don’t understand the trash talking crews. How is it enjoyable to hassle people and scream obscenities at them the whole time?

  • My galleon crew just had to fight off two sloops for about two hours. We'd sink one and by time we wink the other one, the first one's back. We must have sunk them 12 times total.

Thats what im talking about. Not but 30 minutes ago we fought over an outpost for 1h 30m and won but if they would have been spawned at a different location, changed server, or been penalized for dying (ie: lose gold) then it would have ended in 30 sec.

  • Why not thinking outside the box? Rather than having mermaid to appear to return to the ship even if their ship sank, spawn a yellow inflatable raft. Once their ship sank, the inflatable raft spawns where its very location that their ship sank where players can hop on the raft floating back to the outpost at a real-time which is slower than any sloop. Once they arrive back at any outpost, they can do two things: buy a new ship and/or pay for a bounty reward system. If they rammed and sank their own ship by themselves, no bounty system appears.

The rafting would move a lot slower but still able to reach back to civilization and buy a new ship is far better than a respawn system that they are currently use.

If a player feels that they are being unfair targeted upon through a PVP that steals their treasure, they could use a bounty reward system where players could pay at a price to reward any crew in the online world that sinks a bounty crew of 4 at an outpost. With the current system where online players is being sighted, it is shown as white lettering but with the bounty system, red lettering or yellow or whatever color you choose be shown and identified as a bounty and upon their defeat, the different crew get the bounty rewards to be paid by the players.

It could be abused but the bounty system needs to be moderated and approved for online play. This would enhanced the gameplay and prevent a quick spawn and go back to the very same location for some revenge. That player that wishes a bounty must deposit the gold themselves and must decide whether it be worth it. Bounty system ends when a players or crew ends their playing session or changes their server. Once the player or the crew is bounty, had their ship sank, cannot use a bounty upon their very next spawn as a revenge.
