5-7 Day Wait on Black Dog Pre-Order Items

    If you pre-ordered the game after January 26th, they are now saying you will have to wait 5-7 days for the pre-order rewards (they will send a message with a code via the Xbox app).

    Yesterday, they said we'd get that message today. I know stuff happens and I guess it's either become a bigger problem than they first thought, or they had to prioritize other issues ahead of this... but, I am honestly extremely disappointed.
    The biggest benefit the black dog pack had, for me, was being able to wear it instead of the starter clothes.
    I'm not going to rage over this, but it just stinks when the game you've been so psyched for starts giving you reasons to feelsbadman.
    I saw US streamers were playing the game, long before I could (here in the US), then I learned I'd have to wait a day for my pre-order rewards... now, I'm reading that I'll have to wait a MINIMUM of 5 days for those rewards.

    Ah well... perspective - at least I beat cancer, lol. I should be happier :D

    Oh dear, there we go. I completely agree with you, this is unacceptable. When I preordered nowhere did it say that there would be such a delay.

    Sorry Rare but when it comes to fulfilling your pre order advertisement you should put 10 people on sending those codes out manually 24/7 if that’s what it takes. Everything else is very disappointing.

    At the very least you should be including some additional compensation for those affected.

    While I believe we have legitimate reason to be... displeased... I'm trying to also keep my humour about it all...
    Regardless, this is currently me:

    Can't do that. There would be a salt-explosion of people upset that because their code arrived on time (like mine did!) that they didn't get Reward X.

    Actually on consideration this is a great idea. Make the additional reward the Ebon Flintlock and prepare for meltdown.

    Oh well, there will always be someone complaining I guess. Fact is, if it were not for the cosmetic, I could’ve bought a key for 20 bucks less just as well.

    I pre-ordered well after the 26th of January (like 2 weeks ago tops) and got a message from Xboxlive just before the game went live in my time zone. The message was to be found in the Xbox app, in the 'messages' box (3rd thingy on the right, next to friends and groups).
    Didn't get any email or anything else. Right under that message was the code to redeem.

    Funny thing is that I was upset about not having the blackdog pack for 11 hours post-launch, while in fact, it was waiting for me there all along...

    Yeah, I wish the message was there for me.
    I pre-ordered on February 16th and have no message in the Xbox app.
    I was just told that I should have a message though... hrmmm...

    I have several accounts, and one of them, which got the 'founder' exclusive bonus for testing the closed beta, also somehow got the blackdog pack even though I did not pre-order the game for that account, I only got the 14 days trial on the Xboxpass. I activated the pass as soon as the game could let me in... whistles... and ... for some reason I now own the blackdog pack... T.T

    I don't care about it since it's not my main... I just thought I'd report it though, because it's unfair to those who have pre-ordered and are looking at the 10+k gold hats in-game... as I did for 11 hours ;)

    5-7 days? I want to cry.
    I also really wanted to wear those clothes first because the starting clothes suck and it's hard to grind idk 50k+ gold to buy a "skin" for my entire character (everything that the black dog pack has), I'm at like 3k after playing for hours (with some sailing around without purpose and just exploring, but a fair amount of questing too) and a jacket is like 10k alone :/
    I thought I read the black dog outfit will be available at launch, then I read "within a day for those that ordered after January 26", and now it's 5-7 days?? That's just not great :(

    Yeah, I wish I could just forget about this... hand me my grog!
    SoT support told me, based on my Feb 16th pre-order, that I should have gotten the Xbox message already. There is no message, unfortunately (and I checked my other account, just to make sure - no message there either).
    In response to that, they told me I'd need to talk with Microsoft Support.
    So, I did that (phone call made it through before the chat support).
    After going through hoops and being on hold for a long while, they came back and said they communicated with the development team and it will be 7-10 days, due to the backlog.
    No idea if the MS guy was pulling that out of his hat (black dog hat, most likely), but that's what he told me.....

    And then there's me, who bought a Xbox, recieved the game along with it, and even tho i didnt pre order, i got the costume with it and have been using it right Away...
    Lucky me, but it kinda doesnt feel fair

    Yes it is unfair that some of ppl got it and some of not, but this is not "Key" thing to play....

    P.S I'm waiting as well with you, but having fun without it.

    Huh, never would have thought of that. I'll just delete the post and not bother to 1) communicate with the team and go through the channels they've told me to check with to get my stuff or 2) not share the info with everyone else that may be experiencing the same thing. 'Cause, you see... they gave me info, but it hasn't panned out the way they said it would (multiple times now).

    Also, hey, different people hold differing importance on various aspects of things.
    It is what it is. If it's not "sooo" important to you, congratulations. Thanks for letting us know. :)

    I usually follow the rule of avoid games on launches and on major update/patch days.

    Thanks mate. It's really not a big deal, of course, but I appreciate that! ;) Just trying to resolve it and share whatever the case may be.
    Every launch of any multiplayer game tends to have some major snags. Server stability is the worst issue, and always needs to be tended to. I imagine it is much like us in the bottom deck, frantically patching holes and bailing water. :D

    I'm sure we'll all be sailing and having a ton of fun in a few weeks!
