Soloing the fortress

    I've been running around the fort solo for the last 40 minutes killing everything and waiting for the captain to show, I'm curious if anyone has done this solo and if I just have to keep trying or if every time I die I lose all progress. I'm talking about the occupied forts btw.

    I gave up after 45 minutes last night. Someone else on the forum said he managed to do it solo, so it's possible. He probably got lucky though or both of us got bugged out forts that never spawn the captain :/

    Definitely possible! I did the fort solo but I will say, be prepared to spend a good amount of time on that fort because the wave of skellies is RELENTLESS.

    See I'm leaning more towards it being bugged since I've done all three of the new skelies about 3-4 times each plus the blue guys god knows how many times

    I tried it, but found a shadow skeleton you can't even damage. So I gave up.

    @luxolites I've also tryied soloing, but my impression is that if you die, you loose your progress. It seems to me that there has to be always someone alive during the raid for the progress no to reset.
    Everytime i died i got the impression that i was fighting the first wave again. where there were no special skeletons.
    After a while i realized that there is no bennefit from soloing. i know the rewards are good in the fort, but the time you spent is best allocated doing voyages.
    Thats only my opinion. What you guys think?

    Beat them with light. Pull out your lantern and they turn into normal skeletons for a period of time
    Fighting them at night was hell

    @wolfgunhellfire I don't even care about the loot at this point. I'd be happy if a 4 more crew decided to roll up and take it all, I just wanna see what's inside since the one time I did it in the beta it was bugged and empty. But at this point no I don't think it's worth it now.

    @wolfgunhellfire that explains a LOT...huh. Yeah honestly the one time I did it alone, the vault was empty xD but that was a glitch haha. Still, it broke my heart

    I did it solo. Dying does not reset progress. :D Took me between 1-2 hours to finish it. I was lucky no ships came until I was almsot done with carrying all the lootz to my ship :D Missed some things though

    I just spent 3 hours to solo a fortress, it took about 15 skeleton waves 5 leaf 5 shadow 3 blue and 2 iron skeletons and i honestly think it's not worth to do it alone, my loot got me about 10,000 gold in about 3 hours of killing myself with explosives trying to kill as many as skeletons i could and now and then some players showed up and started shooting my boat had to deal with them as well, but is indeed a fun thing to do when you in a party!! And it gives a ton of different loots and some good XP with the factions

    From what I have read it takes about 15 waves of skeletons. Music plays each time.

    In the beta and on the official, I get close to finishing when a galleon shows up, destroys my ship, and kills me at the expense of their ship sinking. No one gets anything.

    I really freaking hate kill on sight players. There is no point to it. This game will not survive unless there is a PvE mode.
