So I have a friend who has an Xbox and i havea PC. Can we join each others party tomorrow night when the game launches or does he have to get it for pc?
You can play together from either Xbox or PC it doesn't matter. My wife plays on PC, I play on both and we always sail together.

I would advise making sure you add each others Xbox accounts - PC and Xbox with invites. It seems much easier at this point for the Xbox player to start a party and invite you.
