Uninstall Instructions need work.

  • Due to the size of the final game clear instructions should be provided for uninstalling the betas, etc. Some instructions given in the past were far too complicated, involving having to uninstall the Microsoft app and other convoluted processes.

  • @wolff34 I agree ... i tried uninstalling the beta to have a clear start at installing the full game .. i hope nothing will conflict ...

  • @wolff34 same here didn't find button =/

  • We getting punk'd? You press windows key on keyboard.. Type sea of thieves.. Icon comes up in search. Right click, then left click "uninstall", it will confirm, you left click "yes"

    Complete - Game is gone

  • @fat-petti in windows 10 you can click the search glass... type sea of thieves .. the beta will appear then right click and remove... it takes while.. but it should be uninstalled ...

Now for the final release it seems i can install but i can't select the destination ... or am i missing something?

  • @incentio • Go to Settings / Apps & Features
Type in "Sea of Thieves", click on it... then click "Move" and select the Drive you want it on.

    Settings / System / Storage
At the Bottom you have "Change where new Content is Saved", as this allows you to set what Drive you use. This is actually improved in Windows 10 / 1803 (due out next month) as you no longer have to manually re-target Folders, instead One Drive is used and will target to the Drive you set in those options.

This does technically happen in Windows 10 / 1709 but it can cause you to have multiple Pictures, Documents, Videos, etc. Folders which aren't differentiated. That this now moves all of the Files and retargets the Folders so you only have one set is a welcome improvement.

Also for those who either want to Uninstall or just want to Clean the Application Cache (as chances are Pre-Release (PTR) Builds will use the Beta Product, so might be worth keeping about) … you can also do this from the Apps and Features.
Uninstall is the obvious button, but if you click on "Advanced Options" you get access to various options.

Again this is being substantially expanded in the next Windows 10 Release.
So right now it's basically just the App Cache (similar to the Xbox 360 / One) but coming soon are the options to set Application Permissions / Termination / Reset / Downloadable Content / Add-On Management / Performance Optimisation (also available via the System - Display - Graphics Settings.

The next Windows release is improving A LOT of things.

  • @leyvin Thnx for the explanation .. i'll try this when i'm @ home ...

  • LOL!...remember the good old days when you could go to Control and hit uninstall and it was gone? Thanks, guys, I do appreciate you’re helping out those that were having a problem with this.
