Large undead ship raids!

  • Imagine a huge ship under undead control rising out of the sea causing chaos among the seas. You and your crew would have to avoid cannon fire and hop aboard the ship to begin killing off the skeletons occupying the ship. With that, you make your way down to the bottom of the huge ship (thinking maybe twice the size of a galleon) and collecting the treasures stored there. This kind of mini-raid would be absolutely beautiful to come across.

  • @dragonninja612 This is a wonderful idea! Sort of a mobile skeleton fort that's armed to the teeth yet full of treasure!

  • If they every do something like that I bet It will be a Halloween event.

  • In facts for me , who say pirates , say Empire with merchant way far away to supply main country n Corsaire(idk english word 4 these pirates focus on 1 n payed by other). Yea i know , but the basics are here, like my imagination 🙂

Mmm... pretty sure I described this in another thread a couple of hours ago...

  • @lewanderous I did read it from another thread and thought it was a fantastic idea. But since it wasn’t in a thread (that I noticed) that was specifically all about large skeletal ships, I made one about it myself. Sorry if it seems I wanted to entirely take credit for the idea, I was simply inspired to send this further into the community.

  • I have a feeling something like this will come along in one of the "live campaigns."

  • @greyscissors Any idea what they exactly mean by “live campaigns”? I know in general what they are, but if you could, could you please give any details you know as to how they work?

  • Yeah something like this would be cool. A Flying Dutchman-esque man-o-war ship that has a mechanic similar to the Kraken. With massive treasure in its bottom hull, so after it goes down your crew has to hunt it’s ruins for the reward

  • I Would Totally love this Idea, Unfortunatly RARE (wich is a decition i fully support) decide to only have player ship for the gameplay reason "Players should easily distinguish other ships as other players." If its a ship, its a player

  • @dragonninja612 Sure, although I probably don't know much more than you. Essentially these will be events in-game that will allow all crews to participate. These may last a day, a week, or even a month. They will include different, presumably repeatable, quests. I recommend that you watch this video if you are looking to learn any more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=3I37izw_-Jg

  • @greyscissors okay, thanks! I’m just too excited for sea Of Thieves. My friend and I plan to pull an all nighter on the 19th (because it comes out 11:00 PM my time and 10:00 PM his time) to get straight into the game!

I am sure it's perfectly possible to distinguish a player controlled ship and a ghost ship or a man-of-war with spaniard, english, dutch or french banners.

Rare is holding secrets or the technic issues are too big, there is not a valid reason to disregard NPC ships. They could be awesome.
