Sea of Thieves Livestream Recap

    For anyone who can't watch the whole thing or just can't be bothered lol.

    IPG (Infinite pirate generator) Now will have an option to "Save" a favourite. You save one, the other 7 repopulate, save again, other 6 repopulate. You can do this so you can choose between your 8 favourite choices.
    Snakes- You use shanties to charm them. They do spit poison. You can use this to your advantage and place them around your treasure though to guard it.

    New Skeletons
    Gold Skellie
    Gold- Gold ones are heavier and slow. If they go into the water or you throw it on them they rust up and move even slower.

    Shadow Skellie
    Shadow - In dark and nighttime is when they are at full strength. Weaken with light (daylight or a lantern)

    The third type they are keeping it secret for the launch

    -You will find tomes around the islands (books) that will also have random voyages. Some will also have Shanty lyrics.

    -They originally were working on being able to log in onto a ship and keep the open spaces closed so randoms can't join, but your friends can later. This has been parked for now and will be looked at after launch. Its a high priority and they hope it will help the brig being misused.

    -Beyond Legend will be about "me and my ship" Your ship becoming a personification of your reputation (sparse on details.)

    -SoT will be able to be preloaded but they are still finalising the build. Will release the date when they know.

    -Founders will be getting an in-game gift. We will find out before launch. (way they were talking sounds like something for your ship.)

    A new campaign event will be coming soon after launch. Campaign events will bring new NPCs and new ways of playing They have plans already for more.

    Important dates up until launch
    15th (Tomorrow) -Full Trailer ( includes Kraken) Tease was shown at the end
    16th-Reddit AMA 3pm GMT
    19th- Releasing something that they have dreamt of since the beginning of project. No real details. Sounded like maybe a video?? We will have to wait and see.

    @scarletshimmer you're a legend also I watched it for like 10 mins, was there a mixer gift like the pistol skin or something?

    @marvelironfist Thank you! I didn't see anything about this anywhere. People kept mentioning it in the chat. I think they were getting confused with the Inside xbox livestream that had a lot of SoT content. That had a free pistol skin if you watched. No one seems to be able to get an answer if you still get it if you watch the saved version though.

    @cipher-8 it's OK we are so close now anyway. I took things with a pinch of salt I do see also because after the first data mine I know Rare were saying they were on about changing names to code names etc. But we will see very very soon!

    The 'rusting' skeletons and spitting snakes are exactly the kind of content I was expecting from rare; fun, thoughtful, logical and comical all at once. When the did the beta recently I was dissapointed by how fragile and naked the content seemed.

    But with the alteration to the IPG, spawn system, and with these announcements, I'm feeling a bit happier now. I'd like them to go back over the merchants alliance and the role pigs and chickens play in the game, but I'm definately more comfortable with the thought of the games future now.

    I'll still stand by my opinion that they're leaving some aspects of the game way too close to launch and are going to launch with issues that aren't there, but at least they seemt to care which leads me to believe that there are other reasons for these issues than lazyiness / complacency, which believe it or not is very common in AAA releases these days.

    @inbred-chimera I think that's what I like about Rare. Even with all the issues old and I'm sure will be new ones. They seem to truly care. So i don't doubt they will be solved as soon as possible. They made it clear in the livestream they do listen and look at the forums and social media. Take on suggestions about what people say or can be improved. As long as people realise what kind of game they are playing and the tone they are going for they won't be disappointed.

    @roughleech03117 No nothing. Apart from they said beyond legendary status is about "me and my ship" and the ships will be a personification of your reputation. Assuming this will be to do with becoming a legendary captain and having your own ship? So not sure how it will differ from existing but im excited to find out!

    @scarletshimmer legit, who wants to grind with me for pirate legend at launch after launch 2 days later ill have spring break which is like a week off school.
    Edit: also I play from like as soon as I wake up 9pm average eastern time to 6am or more eastern time. lol I need a life
