Hi, I know I'm probably the nth player to open a thread like this, but I'm going to summarize what I like and dislike about every NPC you can talk to as of right now at the level of the Final Beta.
Quest sellers
- I like the fact that every quest giver has a set of items you can purchase and level up to simbolize your progress with that faction, and I hope this concept will get expanded to include emotes, songs, maps to temporary shipwrecks to scavenge before they sink too low, gossips about huge treasures hidden somewhere that are the same for everyone on the map to clash for, etc.
- I don't really like that both the Gold Hoarders and Traders (I don't remember their name) have 3 randomly named fetch quests that are exactly the same thing: random quests with an automatically generated name that get defined as a map or a riddle once activated.
- I wish that their menus will get changed with more options to choose from, separate sections for quests and objects you can buy from them (cages, or crates, for example). The current mechanic of running back and forth between the ship and the traders to get a quest, activate it, then get the cages needs improvement.
- The Gold Hoarders and the magic guild could have some items like skulls you hold by the hair and rotate in the direction of some point of interest, or crystals you need to look through to see a glimmer pointing you in the right direction to find treasures. This would expand a lot the missions possibilities and add some depths to navigation, especially if they were solid objects a single player would have in their inventory and would need to check like a compass and communicate with the crew to guide it.
Clothing, Items and Weapon shops
- I like the fact that nothing you buy gives you an advantage over other players
- I don't like that the inventory is organized in pages with an unclear definition or organization. I unlocked something at level 15 in the clothing shop but wasn't really able to understand what the heck I unlocked.
- I don't like that everything has a tier-fixed price. It makes no sense to me that a scrap sea-rat jacket barely held together with poorly sawn thread costs the same of a fine leather overlord jacket, with a second tier with a yellowish scrap jacket that costs more than the first one, but the same of another more ornate leather jacket. It'd make a lot more sense to say that you start with a little money and are able to buy the sea rat unexpensive clothes and have to rank up and spend more to buy nicer clothes/items/weapons. It'd feel more satisfactory to save up 6000 gold coins for that sweet sovereign jacket rather than spending 2000 for the first jacket and then another 4000 for a recolor of the same jacket.
- I'd like to have a preview option in stores to see what my character would look like with the selected item equipped like we have with chests.
Dock shops
- I like the option to customize my ship, even though it is unclear how it works when I have a crew of 4 people, each buying different skins
- I'd like to have a fix ship options that'd cost money for each hole that'd be fixed: holes are a penalty in storms, when planks shoot away, but on the other hand a ship battered with cannon holes and scratches is b****s, so I'd like to see 2 separate options you can purchase: an integrity refill for the ship, and a cosmetic refit, like a paint job that'd make your ship look like it just spawned if you like it that way.
- Being able to just buy planks and cannonballs would be a pretty nice alternative for lazy pirates that don't want to be bothered with scavenging, but they'd need to cost quite a lot, like 25 gold coins for a cannonball so that you really have to decide if you want to waste all that money to save time.
- I'd like more cosmec options for ships, like customizable rudder wheels, compasses, bells, and interior design cosmetics like desks, chairs, barrels, stuff hanging from walls and so on.
Taverns
- Turning it into a shop would make sense: 1 gold coin to refill grog, and whatever you can think of: sea shanties unique for each outpost, mini-games you could buy like a dart board to hang in your ship (and other darts once you inevitably throw each of them overboard)
- An amazing addition would be the possibility to hire NPCs to join your ship, like musicians that'd play a song for you... for a price.
These are the ideas that have been floating in my mind for a couple days. If more surfaces, I'll add it to this topic.

Thanks to everyone that read so far.
