We know that once you become a pirate legend you will most likely get a legend ship.
But wouldn't it be cool if there were abilities associated with your legendary ship?
Say every 45 minutes you would be able to change your wind heading or something like that.
But it shouldn't be something stupidly powerful or game breaking, like for an example being able to control the ropes on the ship and adjust the sails singlehandedly like Black Beard does in the Pirates of the Carribean franchise.

Pirate legend abilities?
The problem with vertical progression of any sort is the feeling of obligation to get to the next level and the stress of inadequacy if you can still progress.
Even if the progression was PVE based the problem is still there."I shouldn't try skull forts till I get (insert weapon or buff here)" I dont want this mentality ever in this game, I'm sick of games where I don't feel like I'm getting 100% of the game unless I grind for a number of hours.
Obligations will always have negative feeling towards them. Let me play a game and not just have obligitory busywork.
