Am I the only one that wants a Safe zone spawn?

  • Not that outposts should be safe zones because that takes away a fun and exciting part of the game (the possibility of being robbed of your treasure right at the last step of your voyage) but when somebody first makes a ship or gets theirs sunk, the new ship could spawn in a special place that fighting can’t take place in. And to avoid players escaping death by running into the safe Zone, the developers could design it where the spawn zone disappears when you leave it, just like how you can’t find the Flying Dutchman and reenter the ghost world once you leave the ghost world and enter the real one.
    Edit: Over my 11 hours of playing the final beta I didn’t get spawn killed once. I was just wondering if anybody else agrees that a safe zone spawn would make starting a crew easier without having a negative effect on anyone.

  • @xbusko206x if yer wanting a safe zone mate yer wanting a different game, not sea of thieves. I for one PRAY Rare NEVER implements safe zones, nor change the spawn system (from what it was in the first 3 scale tests).

  • @xbusko206x I would find it hard to enjoy this game if I didn't expect to get murdered and robbed at every encounter. I haven't had this fun in a pvp game since early UO. Perhaps this isn't the game for you?

    Don’t worry I’m completely happy with no safe zones or safe zones. I was simply posting my first ever post on this forum trying to start a conversation. Nice to see the community being nice 😅
    My crew destroyed nearly all crews we ran into over our beta playtime, even one that attacked us at spawn.
    But now that I think about it, the way you spawn at a random outpost is a way to make spawn somewhat safer.

  • @shadow1347 why though? I have no issue with open world pvp. I do have an issue of online games where players are allowed to camp spawn just to troll new players. As I just stated though, the fact you spawn at a random outposts prevents that from happening.

  • @xbusko206x Yeah sorry friend this topic is usually pretty toxic for most of the community lol mainly because people spammed it and had really really dumb reasons why, one for instance people complaining they had 50 chests and lost them all and demanded a safe zone. So yeah have a good day dude lol

  • @xbusko206x well I was responding to your post, not comment. If you need a safe place though, an Open World PVP game isn't for you. That and there are already things in place to prevent spawn camping for the most part, even if you die again right after becaues you go unlucky, Death has no consequence in this game aside from losing any cargo you may have be that treasure or livestock or skulls (when implemented in full release) which while it sucks is part of the game. If youre a fresh spawn though this is just a minor inconvenience so it's fixed

    Omg I had no idea Dang :( I just played the beta for the first time yesterday and had nothing but amazing experiences and I’m gonna preorder t later today. I loved it so much that I just had to sign up with insider. I’ll definitely be more careful about how/ when I say stuff tho

  • every seaman has his superstitions be it the Ghost Ship that haunts his dreams or the sirens that call to him to run aground on some haunted shore, SOME even believe that its unlucky to sail with a woman onboard (actual nautical superstition not just me being sexist.)
    In these rowdy forums, the term 'sXfxXzXnX' be rightly punishable by death me hearty.

    Yeah tbh everybody’s comments are fair. The more I think about it the more I wish I had made some other suggestion than a safe spawn. Especially if a bunch of other posters were crying about “dying at spawn.” Just to clarify though, you wouldn’t be able to lose anything with the safe spawns I was thinking about. It’s simply just to allow new crews to communicate before setting off in the dangerous world. Something like that would definitely take away the natural immersion of the game now that I think about it.

  • Yes, totally agree, but as you can see all of these casuals need to spawncamp to kill somebody.

    The solution is to spawn the new player in an outpost with no ship in a reasonable distance, so s/he can have a logic time to get ready for the adventure.

    In my opinion we also need some kind of Turtle Island to make social things and visit stores wiht no risk of backstabbing by one of these internet warriors who think they are good because they leap over a player when s/he can't fight back.

  • @xbusko206x I can see how it would be easier and more convenient to regather yourself after being sunk, but I like constantly being in the face of danger. One of the funnest ship battles I had was when a galleon was headed towards our outpost when we just got into the server.

    I saw pretty good suggestion about social zone somewhere, but can't remember where. Wasn't safezone either. I hope the no safezones policy stays, like you said it adds strategy to the game.
