Those Chicken coops....errr

    Can we make these chicken coops part of our inventory? Maybe add them to the map radial wheel. Because carrying around a coop is rather combersome and if you lose ur ship or life, u are out a coop.

    The whole animal catching thing is a little clunky and slow, especially if you are hunting on a island for chickens while pvpers are sinking ur boat. Might pass on this merchant rep if we have to aquire coops all the time and carry them, drop them, equip sword, kill skele, pickup coop, run around....slow, slow, slow

    And if the merchant wants two chickens, are you saying i need to catch one, return it, then get another coop, go back to another island and catch the second? Who the heck is gonna do that?

    Perma coop if u have a quest that requires it and allow then to hold multiple animals.

    I think the animals are considered a treasure much as chests are and much the same you have to deal with the burden of carrying them. It does sound pretty slow if you're playing solo but otherwise just get a buddy to deal with stuff. I'd assumed they would scale the voyages slightly for solo players but then solo is supposed to be harder so its to be expected. But yah if you have a crew, use them.

    @uberkull The Merchant Trader will give you two coops or whatever you need when you first vote for the contract. You then can return both together to complete the contract.

    I did it solo and was able to take 2 before heading out. Also someone tried to gank me. Killed him repicked up and turned in. It also pays more than a chest and if you have 2 chest its 2 different turn ins

    There was no more x button for a second coop for me.

    @uberkull no mate I thought the same. second time I tried it alone I pressed x by accident and he gave me a second coop. unless it spawned as I pressed x.... either way. he gave me 2 and I was playing alone. I also got given 1k for the voyage so I suppose it makes up for taking forever

    I mean why make it easier? the point is to be smart and aware of your surroundings. you also have to feed pigs which I found out the hard way, my pig died while I was searching for treasure. RIP master porkerson. its all about either sneaking around and finding an island with nobody there and turning in fast. or being in a crew and being the king of the sea.

    Im staring right at him, I have no x and only one coop. I went and grabbed a chicken required for the quest, just to test it. Brought back the single chicken and handed it in. It gave me nothing, and i still cant get another coop.

    Seems broken to me.

    Regardless, I could have thought of a 100 other more pirate type quests to come up with then ‘collect chickens and pigs’

    so when I first caught the pig it sounded like a normal pig, pretty much what you would think a pig would sound like. but I had it on my boat and I guess when it was hungry it'll just sit in the cage instead of standing up so I gave it a banana and it stood up and started making the normal pig sound. when it was hungry it was making a whining sound. then I went hunting for treasure and when I got back to my boat I heard the pig make this faint oink and then I went to go feed it and it was just gone, disappeared. so I figured it died lol. I'm guessing the best way to do it is to get the animals and just turn them in right away

    @uberkull so take your coop to your boat drop it off go bk and talk to him again and get the second one since you can only carry one at a time. Should have 2 now.

    I was able to put 2 coops on my boat, however I clicked the wrong chicken. I didn't see any way to dump it out so I just gave it to the lady on the dock anyways. I obviously didn't get credit, but I wasn't able to get a new coop to replace it. Do you just cancel voyages you mess up?

    I just said that he wasn’t offering me any more coops. Broken for me. Its fine, to me the whole ‘collect animals’ ismt very piratey. Boring actually. Maybe it will grow on me on release.

    @wo0dox either you have to explore the islands to find a coop (they are out there) or start a different voyage. At the moment if you put the wrong animal in there you have to put it to rest, let it meet its maker, a pistol shot to it in other words.

    The time and labor required for these voyages were well worth it in my experience. I received 900 + 500 gold for one level 0 voyage. I have found this much more profitable and more certain than the Gold hoarders' quests. (Though I will admit, forgetting a coup is quite annoying)

    @uberkull you can get more than one coop, i’ve been doing it all day. You just take the first one back to your ship and then go grab your second.

    The merchant did not offer me another coop after the first one. I think its bugged as to the order which you do things. I really dont want to try and redo it since it isnt very fun for me.

    Hopefully Rare considers making the coop a temp item when on a voyage that requires one. Add the coop to the map wheel as I believe that would be the most intutive space.

    What I bolded, definitely. Finding the treasure is fun... but this chicken chasing stuff is boring, annoying, and taxing. Not all the islands have chickens, so it's literally just me boating between dagger outpost and cannon cove. That is not pirating, or being a merchant, that's going on an endless chicken run.

    You should have to do a run to another port pick up the loot, and then run to another port to sell it or bring it back. The chicken thing is just really taxing, I hope thats not what it all is.

If you get your cages from the merchant you can cancel the voyage, start another one and collect more cages. I had 6 chicken coops and 5 pig cages before I set sail. I started a few gold hoarder voyages and once the voyages were done I started a merchant voyage, when and got my animals and turned everything in at the same outpost collect more gold hoarder voyages and keep repeating untill all the cages were gone. I found a few coops washed up on shore also. So it's up to the player to decided how they want to proceed, but the merchant will give you the correct amount of coops or cages for your specific voyage no matter if your solo or with a crew.

    This is why I am kind of baffled why they waited until just a few days till release to test this one out, so we're basically going to be beta testing this traders quest lol

    What you describe is a broken mechanic. The way it works is, you have to place your voyage first...go back to the same merchant and she will give you only the amount needed for the voyage. You then could abandon that voyage, and re-buy it to get more coops for the same type of chicken catching voyage. Thats a bad mechanic.

    How about just add the coop option to the radial wheel if on that type of voyage?
