I want to talk about Character Hit Boxes

  • There’s a wide range of character frames from the obscenely large to the very thin, I find it hard to imagine the hit box is the same for every character.

If the frame was the same I’d have to shoot a large one between the n*****s to deal damage in relevance to a thin frame. Or shoot wide of the thin frames torso and still deal damage if it was in relevance to a large frame.

Being a PVP based game I’d love to know, and have tried to find the relevant information to no avail.

Surely a larger frame character would be at a disadvantage?

  • Nope, it's been stated that hitboxes are the same despite how thicc/slim your character model is.

  • This has been the only thing not working correctly for me.

  • @hazachaos It has been confirmed that hitboxes have been standardised there is no difference depending on the size of character you have chosen.

  • For a Bigger Character.
    Pros
People will miss if they aim at the wrong part of your body.
    Cons
    You are easier to spot

    For a smaller character
    Pros
You may be able to hide better
    Cons
Your hitbox may be easier for those pirates with bad aim.

  • @jackal-guardian That sums that up quite well lol

So I’m assuming my brass generalisation of...

“If the frame was the same I’d have to shoot a large one between the n*****s to deal damage in relevance to a thin frame. Or shoot wide of the thin frames torso and still deal damage if it was in relevance to a large frame”.

    ...is technically correct.

On a personal note of pvp combat with larger frame characters I’ve felt I should of been doing damage when I was obviously not, they almost seemed spongy.

  • @HazaCHAOS Yes I'd say that's accurate. Jackal stated it perfectly a couple posts above. Can't say I've noticed the bulletsponge/damage thing though.

  • @jackal-guardian This won't be entirely accurate, since players generally aim at the head or chest. Its very rare someone will intentionally target the arms or shoulders. Your point still stands since some will, but I don't think it would be often. Most shots are going to be aimed at the centre of mass. Hence it's possible big / small models may be imbalanced in the stealth category. It's a tiny imbalance though.
